Well it's an esport, and in regular sports they have coaching in between rounds, so that is probably where it comes from. Why do you have problems with it? I personally don't like coaching in fighting games either, but I don't follow 64 enough to know what's appropriate.

The difference is that one is an insult directed at the crowd while the other is a strategy for winning. If holding b at the beginning of the game was that good, you'd see it a lot more in bayo dittos, but you don't because it's not great and they only did it to purposefully stall the game.

This is a whole different game, S64 is pretty slow paced in neutral with an explosive punish game
