The passage provided for the typing test was excessively lengthy, resulting in over 5000 key depressions, contrary to the expected 2000 key depressions. Furthermore, the scrolling mechanism was complicated, with no clear arrow to navigate the passage. This led to unnecessary time consumption and errors. Moreover, there was no prior information or clarification regarding the extended passage length or the scrolling mechanism. The lack of a key depression counter during the exam added to the confusion, making it difficult to determine whether we were required to type the entire passage or only 2000 key depressions. Additionally, conducting the exam in two shifts (18 January and 20 January) put candidates who appeared on the 18th at a disadvantage. This was the first time SSC has introduced such a lengthy passage in a DEST exam. In light of these issues, I respectfully request that the SSC considers normalizing the error percentage in the SSC CGL 2024 DEST final result. This would help mitigate the unfair advantages/disadvantages caused by the technical issues and ambiguity in the exam. I would appreciate a prompt response regarding this matter.
