Can SSD drives survive when used for long term under high temperatures? Based on the temperature here in Pakistan Summer its very high and on laptop package reaches above 80 degrees celcius on full load.

it,s a bit sad they still put hdd's in new laptops, , fucks up your speed ,powerconsumption and 256gig ssd would be enough, just with a fast usb flashcard for music and stuf. Only reinstalling can be a bit a pain in the ass, You can't clean it and nobody knows how. Yes with a program from the supplier some say, well not really.And when installing the same windows version goes often wrong. He boots from the drive, loads ,but at a point the screen stays the same, newest bios, tried it with mem in other slots. But i will download one and see how it goes

They still use hdd because hdd offers more space e.g 2 tb its very cheap, as compaired to ssd, just for 0.03 dollars per gb where ssd users has to payed 0.20 dollars per gb. That's why its uses are still valid

To be honest Intel SSD is the most expensive SSD ever When WD and Seagate made better SSD to cheaper 500GB, Intel is still the same price for new 500GB SSD I still had Intel 313 series with 24GB and 320 series with 80GB, both are fast but expensive on launch #Facepalm

Power consumption ? Really ? The difference is between 0.2 and 0.3 watts. What can change that in the battery life ?

No. Typical SSDs use about .2-.4 watts in idle, up to 2.x watts under load. HDDs use about 2.x watts all the time due to the platter spinning , about 5 watts at startup (due to the platter accalerating) and 3.x watts under load
