what if you wanted to keep the lower bass frequencies mono on the bass

The Shuffle control on the Fusion sets the cut-off frequency for space (widening) allowing bass frequencies to remain mid only. Izotope Imager 2 does not have this built in...I use the Mid-Side Splitter in Studio One (which allows any plugin to be used in a mid-side configuration) to accomplish this with Imager 2. I hope this helps out!

Izotopes plug in might not look as nice as SSL's but it's free.

In the end sound is what matters most imo and while I suspect Izotope gives away Imager 2 as a way of promoting Ozone, it is still pretty amazing that high quality processing like Imager 2 provides is available for free. I use a number of Izotope’s tools regularly as well as the SSL bus compressor regularly and find both companies provide high quality offerings. Cheers!
