Sometimes to do nothing is the wisest course of action. Ricky was waiting for his bath to fill up with a grin on his face! The worse storms are the ones that sprout quickly making forecast very uncertain and still very hard to map out. Having lived through Andrew, Katrina and a few others (my job), I have developed immense respect for the power of the elements!

Checking the Windguru forecasts - that storm brewing there looks like it's going to move north and join the north Atlantic winter storms. I saw gusts up to 98 knots... good thing it's a few thousand kilometers away... ;-)

So long story short, you made the correct decision to stay and I'm so glad you all dodged a bullet . That was a tough call, since the weather data was all over the place not being consistent, which makes it virtually impossible to make any accurate prediction

I'd highly recommend the book. Weathermans guide to the sun. By Ben Davidson aka Suspicious Observer. If you know when solar storms are happening. These weather systems are boosted during solar storms.

An insight into rapid weather changes globally. Going to show graphically, but Rick likely to get it! (Long, context 1st): After the blizzard of 78 with no power, installed an airtight wood stove. The basement got hot, but cool upstairs? Used incense smoke to see the air currents. In the basement, noticed the hot air dropping at the bottom of the stairs. Where the cold air was coming down the stairs, the air was rising, revealing an very inefficient "thermal barrier". To break the barrier, I used convection by cutting a hole above the stove, installing a grate. INSTANTLY the upstairs got hot, quickly! (End of context & not a business model of calculated predictability) KZbin recommended a global air currents model & quickly related the 3 hemisphere nodes to the home thermal barrier! The next week, watched CV Delos approach the "Doldrums", but in squall city🤔 SUMMARY: With climate warming, the temperature differential for inefficient thermal barriers is collapsing allowing direct flow of heat/cold & moisture to move efficiently; which if true will effect trade winds etc, with a whole new weather prediction model. This could be a fact for the dramatic HOT or FROZEN Earth? 🤔 Navy veteran

Rick, now you have better weather coming, would it not be a good idea to take the engine for a blast for a few hours see what happens with fuel system ? May be take an injector out to look at the ends ? But to me it seems that the timing pf spill has slightly changed which would be quite natural for a brand new engine. Ive been lazy in the past . Im not to sure what injection pump you have, but is it possible with your engine to run it under load while changing the fuel pumps timing , as thats the quickest way to refine spill cut of visually without having to start striping things down ?
