So awesome Jim! 🙌🙌🙌 I love your suspension upgrades. I would love to do that down the road too, and add that extra high speed compression circuit like you've done on the shock. Your bike lost a ton of frikkin' weight with those swaps too! Probably around 5 pounds, that's huge. I bet it's handling much better too? You've got your carb tuned perfectly, like really perfectly. Are you still using your stock throttle housing & tube that your Lectron cable connected too? "I'm only in 4th gear!" Haha! 😂 You already know, but I'll say it again: Appreciate you & all the support! -Charles // mXrevival

It is lighter, the Stock SSR forks are very heavy and so is the rear shock. The bike is really agile now. I think I going to just call this the BSE 300 project. This has nothing really SSR on it anymore.... lol... Lot more mods to come!

I'm wondering if the lower end is more controlled with this carb. My 300 is very touchy at the crack of the throttle. I'm trying to calm it down to ride with my kids.

Yes, it is. I spent a lot of time trying out different carbs and getting extremely frustrated trying to get it to run right. I finally hit my wall and just ordered the Lectron, it was the best upgrade i did. The bike is ridable! It's very controlled now and no surprises.

@Jim stout awesome! That's exactly what I'm after!. I have the Trailmaster TM38, but its 95% identical. Just a steel KTM frame, not the aluminum crf frame. I'll be ordering the carb next month. It's awesome how good a $3600 machine runs compared to the $7400 big brands

@jimstout Жыл бұрын
Now sure how much it added. It's really about the throttle resonse. The 2020 300 had a ready crappy carb. I tried other FCR carbs but could never get it really dialed in. The Lectron solved all my problems. Check out my other video about engine upgrades I've done since this video was shot. It runs real good now!

Captions might be off, did you say 2016 KYB as well as same year shock? Did you weigh the oem vs kyb shock set up, and find a weight difference, someone said you get a 15lb weight reduction by going KYB, due to the resulting absence of heavy springs.

yes, 2016 CRF250R Showa rear shock and the KYB fork were NOS from a 2015 CRF450

The only setback on these Chinese bikes is that they all use the same engines from Zongshen in China. Doesn't matter what bike, they're all using the same engine from the same builder and they are so far off on horsepower from the Japanese and European bikes.
@carmastudio1864 Жыл бұрын
I bought this bike because of the motor. The NC250 platform is very reliable and has plenty of power for what I need. Plus I can replace the entire motor for $1500. That is cheaper than a top-end on any of the Japanese or European bikes. I've always been an XR type of guy and I like 4-strokes for the reliability. All of the fire breathing 4 strikes now are not much better than 2-strokes with the amount of maintence they need. So after all of my research I found that this bike fits what I was looking for in a motorcycle.

I only paid $2500 for the bike new. I snagged it right when the pandemic hit and the dealer was all to happy to sell it. So I had money left over. Plus I got all the little things very cheap online through Aliexpress, Ebay, and craigslist. I also bought the suspension used. The most expensive part was the carb.
