Best tutorial in ssrs so far available in youtube. I have 1 query how we can disable page break in ssrs report while exporting to excel output. I need that page break and only to avoid that when downloading in excel format. Thanks.

Thanks! You can test the RenderFormat.Name property to determine if the report is being displayed in a particular renderer. If you take the example shown in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/fpPWloCDrbtppKc 1) Select the GenreID group in the group panel 2) In the Properties window find the property Group | Group | PageBreak | Disabled 3) From the drop down list, choose 4) Enter the expression =Globals!RenderFormat.Name = "EXCELOPENXML" I hope that helps!

Dude you're the best, but i have a question what if want my report to be filtered only on 1 month it cant do the previous month cause by month rows it has only 1 row how can i do a previous month by dates, more like a previous month on power bi desktop thank u very much for what i've learned allready

I'm not sure how you'd do that in Report Builder without a bit of research - I'd be tempted to do it in the SQL query which populates your dataset. Here's a perhaps not very efficient way to do it: SELECT YEAR(f.ReleaseDate) AS ReleaseYear ,MONTH(f.ReleaseDate) AS ReleaseMonth ,SUM(f.RunTimeMinutes) AS TotalRunTime ,( SELECT SUM(fi.RunTimeMinutes) FROM dbo.Film AS fi WHERE fi.ReleaseDate >= DATEADD(MM, -1, DATEFROMPARTS( YEAR(f.ReleaseDate) ,MONTH(f.ReleaseDate) ,1)) AND fi.ReleaseDate = '2000-01-01' GROUP BY YEAR(f.ReleaseDate) ,MONTH(f.ReleaseDate) ORDER BY ReleaseYear ASC ,ReleaseMonth ASC

Yes this has been awesome. However the trick to not display errors did not work for me. I definitely typed what he typed, verified it a couple times but I get #Error in those fields. Also wish the whole thing started out minimized so you could just see year totals and % change until you expanded that year.

Hi Luke! I don't know why suppressing errors didn't work for you but you might find part 6.6 of this playlist useful for creating collapsed groups kzbin.info/aero/PLNIs-AWhQzcmEFHyxCRwA_gb29WOz5SJU
