why do I see most people jumping the dunes without a paddle at st. anthony? Please fill me in on the secret....if there is one?

thats some of the biggest air i have every seen at st. anthony. i've lived here and ridden the dunes almost daily for three years. i've jumped pretty beg before but this makes me sick to my stomach.
