It goes without saying, all bands has risen since COVID, however, let’s be honest, to compare with yourself to the “Mighty Purple” is ridiculous. Music is not all about power, but, quality, consistency, intonation, arrangement, balance, technique, and song order. Over blowing, is not musicianship. Again, when you come for the Aug, you better have your house in order. Remember, we have always set the standards. Rise Sons! Purple trumpet section “86”. Both bands got that 🔥 but carver has the edge with trumpets that have range as well as technique. Aug trumpets may have both but the arrangements they played didn’t showcase the technique. W goes to carver

Easton is not on St. Aug’s level and I mean no disrespect to them. Everybody (that were not there) are totally off. For the record, NO bands are like they were in the 80’s and 90’s, but as a whole, the band culture is back and that’s Great for the City. Stop the hate and support these kids and the directors. They are doing a Great job!! N.O. is fertile ground. The college band directors are really impressed with the skill and stamina of these kids!!
