I am fortunate to worship at a Benedictine monastery. Blessed Benedict watches over all in his wisdom. His rule is for all mankimd, not just a few.

A wonderful homily. Thank you. Now I know the meaning of humility. I will practice how to be humble. Know my place. And God's will be done.

Benedict of Nursia (Italian: San Benedetto da Norcia) (c. 480 - 543 or 547) is a Christian saint, who is venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Churches, the Catholic Church, the Oriental Orthodox Churches, the Anglican Communion and Old Catholic Churches. Saint Benedict is the patron saint of Europe and students. Benedict founded twelve communities for monks at Subiaco, Italy (about 40 miles (64 km) to the east of Rome), before moving to Monte Cassino in the mountains of southern Italy. The Order of Saint Benedict is of later origin and, moreover, not an "order" as commonly understood but merely a confederation of autonomous congregations. Benedict's main achievement is his "Rule of Saint Benedict", containing precepts for his monks. It is heavily influenced by the writings of John Cassian, and shows strong affinity with the Rule of the Master. But it also has a unique spirit of balance, moderation and reasonableness (ἐπιείκεια, epieikeia), and this persuaded most religious communities founded throughout the Middle Ages to adopt it. As a result, his Rule became one of the most influential religious rules in Western Christendom. For this reason, Benedict is often called the founder of western monasticism.

Very nice voice. Thanks. St. Benedict, please intercede for us. We have no Residential Retreats and we are facing a lot of problems in our prayer life, inspite of having so much time.

It's difficult to refrain from saying even good things out of esteem for silence. oops. If everyone followed the Rule it would be like heaven on earth I think. Thank you Father.

From The Rule: 'A monk should be silent at all times.' 1 Thessalonians 4:11 'Study to be quiet, work with your hands and mind your own business.' Can't open my big mouth and be humble at the same time..

Thank you for this wonderfully useful post! Best thing today getting up! 30mins ago! worst, thinking suspiciously about our prime minister BJ (🇬🇧) The conspiracy & truth movement has such a powerful impact on the mind. I can know from a lie? then the ego chases down theories & nonesense. Sadly 4 me or not i had a moment chasing down lies & intrigue. The Lord said NO! i followed but i’ve still the bad taste of mistrust & distraction! Powerful stuff this world of do as thou wilt... EVIL WILL SLAY THE WICKED! Amen 🙏🏼🦸🏿‍♂️❤️

Im sorry sister in Christ, but that is not a humble thing to say about our Pope. Instead of criticizing our Vicar of Christ we should pray for him just like our Holy Father always asks us to do so, because he recognizes that he too is a sinner just like we all are and we will fall and stumble along the path to saint hood. It is not our natural desire from the hour we are born, to be saintly, unless God says otherwise like he has before with our Lord Jesus Christ, St John the Baptist, our Blessed Mother Mary and so on. May God bless you so much sister
