St. Charles Flood April 3, 2019 (starting at Elm and 370)

This is a video of the flood today. It starts at Elm and 370. We fly down Huster Rd. Then, over to the Mississippi River and Dardeen Slough. Then we go down river past some Marinas including; Southshore Marina, Yacht Club of St. Louis, Lake Center Marina, River Island Marina, Woodland Marina, Northshore Marina, Polestar Boating Center, Port Charles Harbor, and Duck Club Yacht Club.

How horrible. Thanks for the video... I grew up out in Orchard Farm, I love it out there but I'm grateful my family no longer has to fight the rivers. Ugh, devastating! So hard. So sad 😪

Do u have any video on this one or another flying over Lehmond Island Rd St. Charles? Your video is amazing and thank u for sharing. Watching this brought tears. My House is on Lehmond Island and still living in hotel going on 3 months. But now know we can’t ever go back home after the flooding has ended. So sad and devastating for all flood victims. Many many have lost everything including myself. Praying for all

I have had two close calls while legally flying my drone out over the river one with a helicopter and one with a light sport I believe. When I hear an aircraft low I pretty much hit the deck. The helicopter was only about 100 feet or less speeding along the river near the Golden Eagle Ferry landing I had just lifted off and just froze, I was glad I did he passed right in front of me about 100 feet away. I was perfectly legal at the time and was really surprised by him. I am sure what you are doing was legal but it did look like you were under 400 feet in some of the videos where I to fly at times. I do stay 5 miles from Smartt Field. I have flown within 3 miles of Smartt but I stay at treetop level when I do. I will always do my best to get low when I hear an aircraft low because I do not see any way you will see me. Fly safe and I hope we do not have a repeat of 1993 this year!
