Yes, I've watched it thanks. I remember the day the market was officially opened by Larry Grayson in around 1982. It didn't last very long, sadly. Do you know when it closed?

I recall doing all the recruitment for the Presto Supermarket prior to opening. At the time I was Personnel Officer for the company

It seems that the more money the council spends on the city centre, the worse the situation becomes! The monstrosity which used to be castle gardens cost a fortune but it's awful, as is the new traffic system. Now that Swansea City FC are in the Premiership, we can expect visitors from all over the country.. their first impression will be Hight Street... Wales' version of The Bronx!

I agree, the town needs more investment, but given the current financial crisis I can't see it happening for a long while. Cardiff being the political capital of Wales will always get any available cash before Swansea.

The Leather Shop, which was on the ground level, was still open in the late 90's I remember. Swansea City centre needs a complete revamp in order to compete with Cardiff, which is thriving.

It's demolished now and is currently being used as a car park.

Not offhand, but I have a friend who had the shoe repair shop there, so I'll have to ask him and get back to you.

Just got a reply from my friend, it closed in 1986 (he had his shop there from 1983-1986)
