I loved both the narration and the content. Certainly, a great start. I wish your curiosity never stops :) Btw, as someone who lived in Belgium and loved visiting Antwerp (Anvers) every other weekend, I was pleased to see something in connection with those places, albeit in tragic context. And thanks to KD for pointing at your channel :)

Thank you very much @Igor Beliakov! I bet Antwerp is a beautiful city to visit with lots of "mud flood" buildings everywhere. As gfar as KD goes, I wish the website would send me a confirmation letter so I could at least interact with all the people posting great stuff!

Blessings from Amsterdam, never ever heard of this St Felix flood! Astonishing research, very impressive! :(
@RegainingTheBalance5 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I never heard of it either until I came across this document, and was even more surprised that there was so little info about one of the worst flood in recorded history!
@k238studios5 жыл бұрын
@@RegainingTheBalance I was born in Amsterdam and as a little kid I found a lot of stuff, like old chalk pipe heads, wall tiles, shards of pots. In those days (almost half a century ago), it was still a wild and unexplored part of Amsterdam. Also I remember there was a place we called "the coloured pebbles beach". That place was once called "Houtewaal" and destroyed by a flood in the 16th century, in old drawings it showed it had a big church. Those glassy coloured pebbles were probably the leftovers of the church windows. I love your channel, StolenHistory brought me here, I'm grateful they mentioned it! ;D
@RegainingTheBalance5 жыл бұрын
@@k238studios I'm glad they mentioned it too! I'm not surprised you'd find stuff like that. I wonder if anyone has gone down in some of those areas scuba dive style to explore where some of these lost cities might still have remnants of it under all that cold water? I bet there are still some masonry style building still there.
@k238studios5 жыл бұрын
@@RegainingTheBalance I think it's under a big pile of mud! Here at the old centre of Amsterdam they are still deepening floors in the old mansions. The foundations of these canal houses go very deep, it almost looks like they were buried some time ago and had to dig out doorways and make entrances to the second floor! ;D
@RegainingTheBalance5 жыл бұрын
@@k238studios Well then a true "mud flood" event for sure! I know this document only talks about certain places, but I bet Amsterdam was effected by it. The problem is there' almost no info on it but general info about death counts and certain towns being completely destroyed. I knew the houses out there were sunk deep, but digging out multipole floors is crazy!
@blacskii4970 Жыл бұрын
Thank you this is the only video i found that talks about a flood that last 40 days and 40 nights. If you calculated the years from Adam to Noah when the flood took place, the year is 1553. In the bible it says the flood lasted a year but the whole event could of lasted 10 starting in 1543. Same reason he documented the flood is the same promise God said about the rainbow after the flood. The promise of not flooding the whole world if man change the error of their ways but the floods still take place because men dont want change. Its like they like blindness thinking it will save them from pain when it actually keeps them from seeing the suffering to come. Noah was able to prepare because God gave him warning and he took action. God give many warnings and they dont believe that He is still God that give and take away life.

This is probably wrong, but the word missing part regarding iron from the sky. The word is manier/manner... could it be something with "raining manna" as a comparison to the lords food rain. Probably not, but.. just putting it out there.
@RegainingTheBalance5 жыл бұрын
Manner we got, it's the "dug de". that we couldn't figure out. but @Elke Leonhardt may have figured it out in the comment below! It might say "in the manner "they do"" which is a weird thing to say, lol

I dont remember where the f... i read it, but if i remember correctly it was a 1500s depiction of rome, describing parts of the city being populated by thieves, "dirty" foreigners etc after the romans had left/wasnt there.
@RegainingTheBalance5 жыл бұрын
If it really was the "capital of Christendom" I would assume it would draw in all kinds of people. Your comment reminds me a bit of the TV show Rome, where they definitely painted the streets as pretty violent, of course that's a TV show, but I bet it;s not far off the mark depending on the time period.
