I’m pretty certain Saint Gregory did not say the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son. This upsets the divine balance of the Trinity, contradicts Christ’s own words, and for Orthodoxy is heretical - the grave sin of blasphemy against the Holy Spirit as Christ warned against. And thus the later split in Christianity between Orthodoxy and Roman Catholicism is because this change falsifies divine truth. If Christ is the Logos, pointing to the inseparability of God from intellectual truth, then of course if we go wrong in our thinking, we end up departing from God, and falling into man made heresies. And in the long run, onto transgenderism and all kinds of debasement of man in the image and likeness of God

I think when Father mentioned the term “theophany” he really meant to say “theosis”. I think theophany is when God fully reveals His glory, like during the Transfiguration, whereas theosis is the continual struggle of Christian perfection and striving for perfect union with God. If there is someone more intelligent than me who can correct me, please do so; and I defer to the more intelligent theologian.

I think theosis is the same as recieving the Beatific Vision.
