I used to live on 324 south 19th. I used to go to Sunshine Pizza all the time!!! Do they still have the old Burgerville? I went to Condon Elementary school, and St. Helens Jr. High. It's crazy how much is still there!

@@sexncheesefries7731 My thoughts are not altogether complementary and based on old experience so take this with a few grains of salt. Millimeters beneath the surface, Columbia County is deeply white and small minded. Innovation is not appreciated, in any field, and the school system is sub-par. Like any place, there are many good people there but I have always found the general tenor of society to be, well, backwards and preoccupied with itself. The County is still run by a clicque of good ol' boys and change is a four letter word. OTOH, the river, the back country and proximity to the ocean, the mountains and the city are big pluses. Also, inevitably, change is coming as it transitions from mill town to bedroom community.

@@sexncheesefries7731 So, if southern Oregon is an option I would highly reccomend you look at the Ashland area. If it were me I would look for an old farmhouse 10 miles or so outside one of the little towns in that area. If you are more focused on the Portland(ish) area, take a look around Silverton.

I grew up there, thanks for reminding me why I left. St. Helen's Blvd. from 14th St. to the highway has got to be one of the ugliest most depressing small town main streets west of the Mississippi.
