Oh yes, with Anson Funderburhg! The tongue blocking around 6:34 was really nice, and the classical fugue-y stuff at 9:18 was f…ing stellar.

I didn't know this was a Cab Calloway song. Well done. 👏 👏

Nobody really knows who wrote it for sure but before Cab Okeh Records released Louis Armstrong's recording, entitled "St. James Infirmary", crediting the composition solely to noted jazzman Don Redman, who had joined Armstrong's band for this session. Nonetheless, the second and subsequent releases of this recording credited the composition to one Joe Primrose. So go figure?

Holy crap. What he goes into at 9:19 is unreal.

One of the last times I saw Anson, it was the Long Beach Blues Festival when I was playing drums with Floyd Dixon and Jimmy T-99 Nelson. Anson and I left the Marriott together for the festival. I told Anson all the story of William Clarke what led up to William's death. Much of that same story is now in a book about William Clarke: 'Blowin' Like Hell' The William Clarke Story.

Yes! Very cool! I was honored to be interviewed in that book but I'm sure you read that. You still playing? Who with? Thanks for watching!!!! ❤️

@@jasonricci since I was inducted into the Oklahoma Blues Hall of Fame in May, I've been somewhat of a regular in Rentiesville, OK for the Sunday Blues jam. I'm a full time music student here in Lawton fall 2024 will be 3rd year. I'll be in the Jazz-concert-percussion-pep band(s). No more theory, we finished the book! Do you know JJ Perry and his 'No Fightin' website?
