And she still loves to play on the street with her family in the French Quarter. Such a treat to see her there.

A longtime favorite of mine. I have searched the wide world over and have never heard a sweeter performance. Her lyrics are true to the original song, but shorter. "Oh, when I die get six gamblers to carry my coffin,..........."

Manassas, Virginia? Where the heck is that? And how does it support such a large symphony orchestra?

I really don't understand classical musicians....in the first part of the tune, exactly one member nods her head to whatever swing is there...the lady with the glasses top center. In the second more uptempo part, you see a bit more movement , namely the older fella on the right along with the lady already mentioned. The rest of them sit there like deers in a headlight, waiting for their turn to play notes. The lady in the bottom center lightly taps her foot on the beat, but is clearly afraid to show any additional emotion when not playing. How does this work when studying classical music...you only move to the beat of the conductor, and even then, only if you've got notes to play?

It's an orchestral thing. Lose yourself in the music for one second, you'll never get back. Musicians know this, so they don't dare give in to the spell. Had to play a Beethoven sonata once on the town hall piano and since I'd had no notice I requested music. The girl turning the pages stopped to listen. The whole audience noticed, [local music teachers' guild] but I did not.All forgiven.

they have to keep count. If they sit out a while, their music doesn't have the part to follow, it just has a number like "48 bars" to be silent. You have to count accurately or you might not come back in at the proper time. Classical music is very regimented.

Naaah. Classical musicians know how to play. Feeling the music helps you find your place, not lose it. There is a certain annoying concert etiquette about making yourself invisible while you play, so you have to hold still and keep all your feelings in your head.
