It’s funny how I grew up in Illinois getting a day off from school on Casimir Pulaski day because Chicago had the second largest Polish population outside of Warsaw, Poland. We could wear our Cashmere Sweaters today as well because it is chilly enough here right now. My work gave me a day off today because my supervisor had some issues to deal with at his home.

Ok so I’m not allowed to own a home? I can’t own a car for transportation? Or if I own a car it has to be a beater? I’m not allowed to eat food? If I have children I’m not allowed to eat dinner with them but always fast? Why do homes exist then? Why shouldn’t I take my kids to the homeless shelter and live as beggars because that’s simple? I get so frustrated with these homilies, because it’s not realistic to live like that. You want me to throw myself out onto the street and become homeless so I can be “simple”? What square footage of a house is too big? Ok, I can see a McMansion too big. But now I have to sleep on the hardwood floor too? I can’t own a bed because owning a bed is too much of a creature comfort? What does this have to do with God?

See, that’s the difference between Mary/Saints/the rest. I know I don’t live nowhere near to be called a Saint… and I understand that. Although I strive to better every day. Many Saints lived such Pious life that the clergy wanted/tried & eventually killed some of them. People don’t like people that are "too good". It makes them feel worse so they try to take them down by slander and other means. God Bless. Deo Gratias.

@@user-id2hd3nl3g We are both Flesh & Spirit. God understands that our human nature needs food, clothes, roof on our heads. Just make your own priorities correct. Which do you put 1st… The desires of the Soul or flesh? Would one choose to go to Church on Holy days of Obligation or go to cinema, bowling or a game… Does one listen to radio/music while driving or prays the Rosary. It can be simple as that. Remember - You can’t serve both God & Mammon. Hail Christ.
