After years of dreaming and working my a$$ off, I finally get to see the USVI and chose St. John for our stay based on advice from friends. I have been googling and searching youtube and your videos are the only ones I can find that are mostly about the destination/travel advice and not the selfies of the youtuber (and filled with music too painful to even unmute). I was already besides myself about going and these videos have me 100x more pumped. Def subscribing and sharing. I watched both vids about St. John and the one about St. Thomas and will be watching all of them again.

@@Raymondgogolf the odds are she doesn't care ( women are approached all the time ) but i admire your trying to get things done . so the pareto principle is your real friend here, not women. it says that 20 % of women will give you the answer you want. you just have to forget the 80 % of women who don't care. . you just have to keep going. life will reward you for your willingness to accept the hard facts .
@gmsi7d3713 жыл бұрын
in fact, to get anything in life whether it be money or women or anything, we have to be detached. because he who cares less wins. it is a power game. if we need something then we give power to it. if we don't need it, then we have the power. so the trick is wanting something but we do not need it to survive. i have studied the best pick up guys. they do things differently. they treat women like little girls and they don't care what women say and so on. and women call them all the time . does it make sense ? not at all. but does life really make sense anyway ?

I spent a week on that Island and there is plenty to do. The ruins, trails, beaches, snorkeling and just exploring. A week and I still wasn't ready to leave. The only down side was how much we had to search for local culture but it is there oh.......Skinny legs and get the Pain Killer, BEST IN THE WHOLE Caribbean!

FYI 'the' salt pond is not the beach... if you continue to the end of the beach there are two trails - one takes you past the actual salt pond - where some years you can actually harvest salt. It then continues to Drunk Bay which is a hoot to visit. The other goes to Ram's Head which is a great hike with amazing views.

The smallest of the three main islands of the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. John, enjoys a reputation as the most pristine. With a combination of natural beauty on land as well as in the water, this diverse member of the U.S. Virgin Islands offers travelers an abundance of opportunities for adventures.

@@MOAB-UT I LOVED! Saint John is easily one of my favorite places I've been to! Chill environment, beautiful beaches, and cool history.
@MOAB-UT2 жыл бұрын
@@l.mack89 That's awesome. We have been half a dozen times. FYI, the history is not too cool though- dark repressive slavery. Heavy manufacturing of cane sugar. I could not imagine working sugar cane plantations and the hot ovens in that heat up to 20 hours a day. Ultimately there was a rebellion and slaves jumped off of Peace Hill to free themselves. Very pretty island but dark history.
@l.mack892 жыл бұрын
@@MOAB-UT Well, yes..it is dark. I couldn't imagine either. I just meant "cool" as a general term. I definitely don't think slavery is "cool" or "neat" or something that should be applauded. I didn't mean to sound arrogant or come off that way.
@MOAB-UT2 жыл бұрын
@@l.mack89 No worries. You didn't come off in a bad way at all- I knew what you meant- just sharing in case you were not aware. Sadly, most islands have a dark past- hopefully it stays in the past. On the flip side, the people are amazing and celebrate a proud culture having survived rough times. These days they fight hurricanes. We have done some volunteering on STJ. It was really needed after Irma. There is also an animal shelter on the island. When you go back, consider walking some of their dogs- they love it and it's a lot of fun. Cheers!

I visited in 2009 by myself from Canada. It was the only place I ever traveled outside my country and I was pretty young. It was the most beautiful place I had ever seen, for me it was overwhelming, ever thing I looked at was alien to me. I met some wonderful people, I just wished I had not gone alone, this is a very special place and you should be able to relive it with a friend or loved one. Truly a gem.

Do you recommend a rental car for this island?
@MOAB-UT2 жыл бұрын
of course yes. stj car rental is very good. the buses only go to the north shore and are pricey. you will miss a lot and not be able to come and go. you can get stuck out at the beach at sunset also. been here many times.
@IslandHopperTV2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. You can rent it on St Thomas and take the ferry with the car.
@MOAB-UT2 жыл бұрын
Hands down, STJ Car Rental. I have been to the island many times. They are among the best to rent from- very hassle free for me and you can park in their lot after hours to boot. Renting in St. Thomas and brining it over has several issues. Can cost more. Might not be allowed to STJ or if you have an accident, you might violate the terms of the agreement. Harder to park in Cruz Bay.
