Yes! As a Former student leader i always encourage my colleagues and juniors to speak up against any injustice within the systems of college. There's no other platform to train oneself and youth for staging a revolution for Change in future apart from the college/University premises. To all the individuals commenting that 'students should only make education as thier prioritie' Lemme make it clear , every students have different goals and dreams , some are good at studies likewise some are good at sports , leadership,writings, etc . And when it comes to any institution whether its schools/colleges/Universities, different platforms should be provided , not everyone is going to appear competitive exams or do govt jobs . Some have dreams to be a leader, singer , athletes and teacher etc . Which is why opportunities and platforms should be provided to students to acquire knowledge, experience and such . And these student council election is an opportunity for those students who are aiming to be a leader and politician in future . Everyone says that institution is a right place and environment to nurture an individual in a best descipline , and today the institution itself is corrupted within and it is taught to us that we should fight for our rights . That is why we as a student came up with the protest to let the public also have the knowledge of our grievances and support us . Mentioning that we are wasting our parents money is such an ill comment . Infact we do not want to waste out parents money that is why we are voicing out to bring out our abilities and talents along with our education .

Dean of Student's Affairs, I hope you are reading this. I am a sinner myself but what you are doing and saying right now about the management listening to the students is completely false! What are you gonna say on the judgement day before the Lord because you are lying right now and all the students of St. Joseph University will agree to this. You are the Dean of Students' Affairs, not Dean of University Administration's Affairs. You're supposed to back the students not throw us under the bus saying we are lying and making false accusations. You say there has been no issue regarding the election for the pass 6 years but there's have been issues everytime. Tbh this election is not the only issue! They don't have a good management yet! Sju is good but they don't provide facilities according to what the students pay for! Also regarding the cat exam like they take class just for a month n exam starts that also no gap(the teachers has to rush the subjects) instead the students have to stay back after exam for attendence otherwise if their attendance is low they aren't allowed to write their exam !!! And collects money likee anything! Also the fees goes up every semester !

The reason behind this protest is not only regarding election's for the student Council because if it's that i don't think half of the students care about that shit to stand out in the scorching heat People bark alot without knowing what is really happening to the students studying there of course half of them are doing good but half are always targeted by the faculty , tempering with the attendance is one reason, even students that left the college from the first session itself gets some attendance, and some people lose their attendance even if they're not absent. Isn't that the carelessness of the faculty? But as always they'll just shrug it off . Every event are held after classes ie 2:15 now tell me what happens to the students that live far? It's fine for a day but sometimes it's one day after another so what about people who suffer for the fair price and the amount of time they have to spend instead of resting and preparing for the next day, Students should study no matter what that's what we are all supposed to do but they think the students are machines and it's a work lot of process. What's the use of the student Council if there's no power for the students, there's no voice they just shrug off every grievances of the students that the council voice out on behalf of the students and give their own reasons to why the management can't proceed to accept any changes or be linen for the students. I know not many will understand how it feels unless you feel the experience yourself.

My highschool cornerstone has more better facilities interms of Power bck up n hygienic bathroom. This University 💀 imagine no water in bathroom after urinating 💀no mirror in bathroom. No back-up power in entire University .. they said they will add AC soon after our 1semester starts and now were in 3rd semester forget about AC. I’ was also From cornerstone and u shouldn’t talk about power backup and hygienic bathroom cuz it’s the worst one in cornerstone 😂 sju had better facilities compared to cornerstone . Cornerstone with tiny little classroom for real and the principal (that oversize lady ), teachers like imnatula are very bias .. supporting the boys only. One incident where the boys hostel glass was broken by my ex , and that over size principle literally put it all on me cuz the ex was his family member ugh , so I decided to break the new glass and had a satisfying false blame from those cheap college authorities..

The right to form associations or unions is specified in Art. 19c of the constitution of India. It is enforceable against private individuals too. However, the institution also has its own set of rights protecting itself in Art. 30. If you take this issue to a higher level, the case of The Society of St. Joseph's and the union of India and others , 2001 will be mentioned. I understand the student's grievances and their Voices but one should also be informed that The University they're studying in , is a State Private University and not a Public University. The Minorites University has every right to establish and administer the university based on its own rules and regulations without hampering/affecting the Public health, order or morality. I'm not choosing sides here. I may be wrong in the above mentioned statements , and i apologize for the wrong remarks (if made).

I completely understand their concern regarding issues with the power generator backup and their want for their grievances to be taken seriously. However, regarding the Students council election, if the authorities have relaxed or they have passed certain criterias regarding election, it might be because they want the Student leaders to be an example for the other students. When I paid Exam Fee online since they only accept online...I received my payment receipt but after 5 days I get to know that it was refunded back which already exceeded the date line and I Had to pay 500 Fine for that ....I also had to pay Fine for going to Office when I arrived 10 min late my attendance was not counted and I had to pay for that

This issue has been noticed in almost all the colleges in Nagaland. If the authorities are not ready to give the power better they remove students body and function on their own without seeking for student’s assistance in any events or forms. It goes hand to hand and no one is above anyone.

The mentality of the dean is so wrong. Why he kept saying they are students and not politician? These students will become politicans, NGO and will later work in various organisations. SJU is not even a college. Its a damn university, they should be responsible to carter, mould and shape all the possible aspect of the students. Why the dean is only focused in studying? A good grade alone doesn't make a student prepare for their future. Give the student whats theirs.

What the hell is Charles saying? Ullu dimak nathaka unfit Dean of students I am an alumni of the university and it is true, the voices of the students were always ignored. Sir Charles is just a puppet of the authority, these catholic nuns and priests are so stubborn and they run the university. The student's body was not given any power. It was just there for sake, i support this protest. Useless university always exams after exams we did not even have time to sleep, timings could not be adjusted because of exams and assignments.

The way election is conducted is not fair and satisfactory Students need 80% attendance inorder to nominate in election do u think 80%is necessary? Students with backlog are not eligible for election So u think is that necessary? I don't think so this student council body is a representative of the students not their academic results It's a platform to learn as well as to acquired leadership It should be conducted in fair manner This is only about election issue there are many more other defects in certain field .

Talking about equal rights as said by the dean I don’t think equal rights is given to everyone only the one with good attendance percentage and the one with Zero backlogs are given the opportunity what about the rest who have good intentions and is capable of it but never given the opportunity? Students Election leads to division amongst the students. In some college the EU or fellowship use to look after the affairs of the college making it more better for the students. I have experienced first hand division of friends during my university days election. Ism spreads in Nagaland due to such platform.
