@fionahammond9396 Thank you, Fiona 😊. It is very much appreciated. You are absolutely correct. The fact they were able to build these amazing churches without all the technical stuff we have today, it goes to show they were the true craftsman. St Marys was a lovely church and so glad Cynthia suggested we do the 4 churches. ❤️ xx

Another beautiful church. I really appreciate your description of the various details that can be found in these churches and your observations coming from someone who knows building and the names of the different spaces. The burial tombs were stunning. As someone who engaged in brass rubbing back in the 80s these were a joy.

@andrewnorris2 Thank you, Andrew 😊. Your comment was really appreciated. I am thankful for picking up a basic knowledge of building during my time in the building trade, I have learnt a lot whilst making my videos. I am also glad my descriptions of things I see help the viewers to enjoy my videos.

Thakeham is a lovely little village and does have a pub! I also love the deconsecrated Warminghurst church nearby which I would guess you have already visited in the past. The brasses and tombs at Thakeham are very interesting.

@jeanblemings5352 Thank you, Jean 😊. We need to go back and walk around the village. We haven't been to the Warminghurst church yet. I saw it mentioned on another video recently.

Thank you Kevin. My third great grandfather Thomas Hills, married Sarah Carter at Thakeham 8th October 1819. I guess it was this church

@johnf4883 Thank you, John 😊. Wow, that's amazing. What a coincidence. Yes, I would think it would have been St Mary's.

Love this church. If there's one thing l like to see most, it's brass and stone effigy.

@michaelwhite8031 Thank you, Michael 😊. Some of the brasses are lovely but very difficult to video or photograph because of the reflection.

I love this church. We went to a Christmas service here when they had a real donkey and a little girl who was Mary, it was so sweet. The vicar is Rev Sara-Jane Stevens, she's lovely

For the first forty years of my life, I had the pleasure of living in Gate Cottage at the bottom end of Thakeham. Our Living room window looked out towards the Church, the bells were my Sunday alarm. Some years ago I made a video about our Ghost that we had in Gate Cottage.Kevin, can I post a link to my video here and also how can I contact you. I now live in Fittleworth and we had a family of Bookers in the village.

Here is the KZbin link to my video that I made about our ghost in Gate Cottage,Thakeham. The cottage is over 500 years old, the chimney was at one time the oldest part, but I think it's been rebuilt in recent years. The fire place in the living room was once a inglenook fire place, but the previous occupier to us, bricked it in and made it smaller. There is evidence that the house was rebuilt at some time, with recycled timbers, noted by un-used joints in the timbers. Gate Cottage and the surrounding farmland was orginally part of The Duke Of Norfolk estate, in Arundel, but it was purchased by S.H & D Aggs many years ago. @Siggy452004 Hi Andy, and thank you. You posted the link on another video I posted a couple of weeks ago. I have seen the video, a lot of strange things going on in the cottage.
