Father, I wasn't able to make it. In my defense, I live in Canada. I hope you'll still permit me to complain the odd time. Thank God for St Patrick and the Irish who were a great tool in saving civilization. Who knows what God will bring in the future?

Living on Long Island, New York, I look at St. Patrick's day as an opportunity to remember and to honor all the Irish Immigrants who struggled to come to this country and work and slaved to make this country great. As my ancestors where a part of. No face painting or green beer for me.

Thank you for the talk Father Brendan. It is good to be reminded of the deep faith & courage of St Patrick in returning to a country where he was enslaved in order to preach the gospel of Christ out of love for the Irish people. His feast day should be a reminder to go to mass & to keep the faith that he kept & passed on to the Irish people. His mission has continued across the centuries & his fame as a patron saint of Ireland has inspired many others around the world due to Irish missionaries following in his footsteps of faith.

Thanks Father Brendan. St.Patrick must have been a very strong man to have endured what he went through. He persevered while working against great odds in what was a pagan country. We owe a great debt of gratitude to St.Patrick.

Great to see you back Father. It was only a matter of time. As a musician, a practicing Catholic, and Canadian Irish man living in Japan, I just had an a-ha moment. I've celebrated St. Patrick's Day for over 40 years through the great songs of Ireland, but after hearing your message here today, I do want to get to know St. Patrick (my namesake after my grandfather) better. I repsect your words and message. However, I love the music from Ireland, and better still, I love to sing and play those songs. You may know the title "Lord of the Dance." We had an International Mass here at St. Ignatius and that was the song we played and sang. Actually, we paid homage to St.Patrick on the day. So I'm a little torn. I regard St. Patrick as a saint, but I like to acknowlede the holiday through shared interest in the music of Ireland.

Read up St Patrick’s breastplate- a muscular, powerful prayer. The little excerpt we are familiar with- Christ be beside me - is undervalued. Pray it sincerely this week. It is a profound prayer and worth praying daily. Thank you God and St Patrick.

I will be boycotting St Patrick's Day this year ..though having been given the name Patrick at birth ,it's never been a bigger embarrassment being born to that country...it's effete leadership and corrupt governance is no longer tolerable..I no longer forgive I no longer forget..this island has become a center of intellectual prostitution and no good taste and decency human being would want to be part of it... Best of luck with your colloquium in Maynooth padre...as a priest you have the training to invite sinners...i don't and gave no time for them.
