It was composed for the coronation of King Edward VII, the fanfares etc are all part of the original setting for a grand occasion.

No other choir can compare with the St. Paul's Cathedral' Choir, not even the Westminster Abbey's who sang this at Prince William's and Kate's wedding. I was hoping to hear the majesty of this song but it disappointed me. St. Paul's is simply the best.

@rsoriani I agree, I was disappointed by the William and Kate wedding version of this, personally i think there were too many trumpets and the orchestra was not needed. I prefer organ and a few trumpeters as they did for the Queens golden jubilee at st. Pauls.

Oh yes the trumpets are part of it but this performance was not as good as when they did it for the Queens Golden Jubilee....in my opinion.
