This is a masterful summary of the brilliant, *very* complex character that is Stephane Narcisse! The evolution of his character was really well developed... the humour & anger, the politicking & the personal- the patent hurt in his eyes when Lola denied him, the look of utter devotion when they were together... & that look of a man absolutely shattered by her death - I'm surprised you didn't include his rage!face look toward Elizabeth, 'cause that was pretty memorable. I found his comments to Lola about the state of France pretty poignant (& fitting, when you think about the history of 16th/ 17th c France- I had ancestors from Lorraine, who fled to England after the infamous St Bartholomew's Day Massacre). I absolutely *adored* Craig Parkers' encompassing performance (only one of many in his resume). A slight veer off-course, but I think he would make an incomparable Brynden 'Bloodraven' Rivers, if one of the so-called 'successor-shows' they've been talking about, was about the Blackfyre Rebellions, because I am utterly fascinated by him. What do you think?

Does anyone know if my speculations that he is Anne de Montmorency, or if his character actually existed? I am living in Ecouen, we have a castle right next to my apartment, I have read history books and I cannot find her character, I have the impression that Caterine de Medicis' daughter was married to her son, it may be Anne de Montmorency since this one had a son married to a daughter of Henry II.
