Ok guys, I understand that everyone loves the show and I understand that Linda Carter is always going to be wonder woman I get all of that BUT Have you guys actually just sat down and listen to the song it’s self?! As I sit here I’ve listen to this song like seven times in the last like 20 minutes 30 minutes and I have to tell you that this is one of the funkiest drum line I have heard in a long time! Give this comment a thumbs up if you agree that this drum line is ridiculous!!!

This drum line IS a huge factor in conveying the excitement of the song & the action. In fact, the thing that disappoints me most with almost every unofficial studio cover of the theme is that they always go with a more streamlined, near-disco beat. The pop/rock percussion style from the original season is full of incredible free form riffs, intermittent high hats, & well placed cymbal crashes. I salute the drummer & all the other musicians who contributed to the series soundtrack.

I would think a lot of people who were alive in the 1970s and 1980s or who saw the Wonder Woman TV series in reruns would agree with you. It's the same with Superman. Many people cannot imagine anyone but Christopher Reeve (or George Reeves for older fans) playing Superman. I've tried watching other actors play Superman and they might be okay guys in real life but it's not the same experience for me that Superman The Movie and Superman II were.

Lynda Carter will always be Wonder Woman to me and of course her alter ego Diana Prince. Lyle Waggoner who played Steve Trevor for two and a half seasons will always be Steve Trevor to me. If you notice that when they were going to possibly set up the show for a fourth season they said it were Diana moves to Los Angeles which would also mean the phase out of Lyle Waggoner as Steve Trevor

Childhood memories for me. I watched wonder woman every Saturday night back in the day. My late grandma and my late aunt who passed away 5 months ago from dementia always watched wonder woman with me. Hearing the wonder woman theme song makes me want to cry. Because i think of all the good times with my grams and my aunt. I miss these 2 ladies like crazy. My grams taught me how to cook. My late aunt taught me to be respectful to other people and taught me how fight back at people who are disrespectful towards me.

This Season One theme was performed by The Ron Hicklin Singers with John Bähler handling lead vocals. This group--The Ron Hicklin Singers--literally did it all--TV shows, (Batman, Happy Days, That Girl and many others) as well as many radio station jingles and promos (for TM Productions) and TV commercials ("You Deserve a Break Today" for McDonald's for instance). Not many people know how pervasive they were in the 60's through the 80's.

Gal Gadot was great as the character. But Lynda epitomized the comic book character. Actually the first on-screen Wonder Woman was Cathy Lee Crosby. But that mini series did not follow the comics. Lynda looks like the comic character.

It's impressive because the ORIGINAL studio session/mix tapes/masters have been lost for years! I think the magic was worked off an old LP pressed decades ago! LP's hold quite a bit more sound that people think... I've been wanting to hear this theme properly remixed in stereo without getting sampled and all the other orchestration everybody seems to want to do to it.

The soundtrack was released for the first time on a 3 CD set a couple years ago. You can find a video for that on here with links to buy it. The only thing released in the 70s was a single version of the theme billed as the New World Symphony. You can find it on here.

@@DELSTAR1 This outtake is by far the best version of the original opening theme that I've heard. It is SO CLEAN and the instrumentals are fantastic. I think it's just a TINY BIT BETTER if you speed it up a bit! No more than 5%. Set your custom playback to 1.05 speed and you'll hear what I mean. The Season 1 Theme Song is NOT the take they used in the original pilot. I linked to video clips of the ORIGINAL intro to the 1975 TV pilot movie in my response to Dyana Bartley above. According to my research, they re-recorded the theme AFTER that pilot film aired. It was felt by network executives that the recording was "fuzzy" and I can definitely hear that. The phrasing isn't as crisp on the Pilot Film take as it is on the recording here and the edit used for the TV Series, Season 1 Opening. They did not change the lyrics between takes of the original theme song.

Only "Fausta the Nazi Wonder Woman" still has that version in reruns and on the DVDs. The CD set has both versions. LaLa Land Records has the soundtrack licensed from Warner Brother's Watertower Music.
