LOL oh no. Avocado related hand stabbings are actually so common. I was reading recently this one person who went to the ER after stabbing their hand through an avocado and met someone else who was there for the exact same thing. it's practically an epidemic 😂 we need proper avocado cutting PSAs.

I just recently heard a story on the radio that in, I believe Mexico maybe (I might be wrong on the country) that this is such a common occurrence it actually IS being called an epidemic. So much so, that they put warning stickers on the avocados to be careful when cutting. Crazy!

Peter's knife accident reminded me of my finger's encounter with a coffee grinder a few months ago... In my case, my husband was in Mary's role - taking care of the spilled coffee, calming me down, assessing whether we needed an ER visit, etc. Hurrah for loving, patient spouses!

Hopefully Peter's hand is okay! Avocado's can be tricky little things. Peter is a lot like me during a fibro flare, a mixture of whimpers, yips, and yelps followed by assurances that everything is fine despite things sounding very not fine. Also all I could think when Mary was pranking him after was just that I was proud she didn't say hey first ;D Thanks for today's vlog, my own is having to go up a day late due to chronic illnesses flaring and I definately needed the smile!

I did the same thing several years back only I cut into my my left index finger -- to the bone! It's been more than 10 years and there's still no feeling in that part of my finger. 7 stitches and physical therapy -- all for a dumb ol' avocado pit!!

I love both of you, I think one of the things I love is your laughter, it is so contagious. Our daughter was visiting us one time last month and she cut her hand, yes it was small like Peter's but one thing she did was use the super glue and wallah, new skin. Just an idea for the next time if there is a next time.

I hope your hand heals fast! I believe that there is a little avocado cutter/tool that won't hurt your hand. Made especially for avocados.....makes nice sections in them. You can get it in the dollar store or Walmart/Target in the kitchen department. It's worth it...no more injuries.

Peter! I did the exact same thing to my hand in the same spot doing the same thing! I was 14-15, home alone and cutting avocado. I thought I'd be slick and stab the seed out, but I missed. It didn't even bleed, but there was tissue sticking out (gross, I know, sorry). I was in shock so I ran outside to my neighbors house. It's been over 20 years and I still think about that every time I cut avocado. I hope you are feeling better!
