Stabicraft 2050 Supercab chasing Ghost Boats | Stabicraft on the Sound

Today we took the Stabicraft 2050 Supercab out Chasing Ghost Boats near Port Susan. We weren't catching anything, it was cool and rough, and thoughts of packing it in early were seeming like a good idea, until, the USCG called out looking for anyone near Port Susan to be on the lookout for a 50 foot adrift sail boat! We were close and that seemed like a fun challenge so we were off! We found a likely vessel and on the way back in checked out a sunken boat as well.
Overall it ended up being a fun and relaxing trip out. We tried out some new camera mounting locations and will be adding more soon. Until then enjoy this episode.

I really enjoy your channel because it actually shows a perspective Stabicraft buyer how the boat handles in real water. I can't stand boat videos trying to convey how great their boats are while WOT on flat seas. So,.... thank you for real footage.

I have a deposit on an 1850 X1 with 135 Honda, thoughts? I once had a 17' Arima and took it out nearshore along the Oregon coast on good days all the time (Astoria/Garabaldi). I figure the 1850 would be a similar "capable" vessel or even better in most cases than the Arima. I have the option to upgrade to the 2050 but I fish with only 1 other person 90% of the time. I've been told the 2050 and 1850 will ride the same. Thanks! great videos too!!

Thanks for the comment Chopkinz. From what I recall standing in the 1850's, the cab space is a little smaller but the rest feels pretty close to the same. I imagine the ride would be about the same between the two. As to the upgrade, that's your call, but after owning the 2050 for almost four years, and a half year of going out every weekend now, the 2050's starting to feel a little cramped at times. Especially after checking out a 2750 in person. What we've started doing is trying to really optimize the space we do have, and pack things modularly. Little cases in larger cases, etc. I also started measuring storage areas and buying storage containers that fit like a glove. That's helped out a lot. Coolers suck up the most space, so we've started leaving the big cooler at home when we're only fishing for bottom fish. We throw them in the tank and keep them live till we're nearly finished for the day. We keep the smaller cooler we do take out in the bait tank until we actually need it for a fish. I keeps the deck a lot roomier. I will say if you plan to do any crabbing, crab pots eat up a lot of space in a hurry. Coolers consume the next largest amount of space. But over time you start getting a system down of how to make it all work regardless, and whether you stick with the 1850 or upgrade to the 2050, you'll love either and make it all work.
