Measuring the total harmonic distortion factor of the AC voltage stabilizer B2-3. The measurement is carried out in two ways - using the Rigol DS1202Z-E oscilloscope in the spectrum analyzer mode with built-in FFT mathematics (fast Fourier transform) and using a personal computer and the Spectraplus and Soundcard Scope processing programs installed on it.
In measurements, a special low-frequency divider-limiter is used to reduce the voltage of 220 volts to a value of 0.5 volts. The scheme of the stand and the divider is given before the start of the measurements. At the end of the video, the inside of the black box is shown.
In the first part, on the Rigol DS1202Z-E oscilloscope, using cursor measurements, the harmonic amplitudes relative to the fundamental frequency are determined. The resulting data is used to calculate the harmonic distortion factor using a ready-made online calculator and using spreadsheets using standard formulas converted to decibels.
In the second part, the sound card of a personal computer and the programs SpectraPlus and Soundcard Scope are used to measure the harmonic distortion. The same measurements are performed, in addition, the Soundcard Scope software in oscilloscope mode allows you to evaluate the waveform.
