@joaomario30603 жыл бұрын
Mechanical Spring? I call it bullshit. Even a normal wood stringer when loaded is a mechanical spring... Must be just a carbon fiber stringer or carbon fiber stringer rod they just market it to sell more boards. But hey, still a surfboard in the end of the day.
@cwr86183 жыл бұрын
Yep, semantics
@xroadwalker3 жыл бұрын
Yup . Groove where the stringer is. Twist carbon cloth push it in and resin.
@decadeca10003 жыл бұрын
Maybe it's more of a "springer" and less of a stringer? Bert Burger has talked a lot about these as an alternative to a stringer. Stringers were added to boards to give them rigidity and I guess that's when boards started snapping...like a green banana. Springers are more strategically placed and in theory would flex and recoil more. A lot of companies experimenting with different foams, carbon, etc to get the same effect.

You can call it what you like, Nick Carroll reviewed two boards of ours over 2 months in a variety of big and small conditions and called it the tech of the century on Surfline!

@@harrisondemeritt it can but you gain so much speed that it can be tough to control some time. Also depend on the wave type. If the wave is too shallow/steep versus a less steep wave. But I have to say that I love the board. Probably my favorite board out of the other 7 that I have.

A normal stringer is a mechanical spring... This might just be more BS marketing. I reckon it'll just be a carbon stringer or something similar.

Thought the same. Probably the reason they did not actually show a cross section
@campbelldesigned3 жыл бұрын
External looks can be deceiving, there is a whole lot more going on inside which is what makes it unique and different. And as for your call of us just using BS marketing I will also refer you to Nick Carroll’s Surfline article where after extensive testing he referred to it as the most exciting and effective piece of surfboard engineering this century let alone this year!
@CupiDany3 жыл бұрын
@@campbelldesigned Well I'll certainly have a read and stand to be corrected. Though this video certainly doesn't help. Deliberate lack of explanation in it isn't exactly encouraging a belief that the tech in the board is significantly different from what's already out there.
