But first, do you get the sentiment I'm trying to get across. And second, I am not a hobbyist. I am trying to do this blender thing professionally. And for that you need some crazy power. And when you're taking this thing seriously, you'll know this laptop is definitely on the lower end. That's all. For the longest time I thought that my computer was the limiting factor, but now I have a really nice laptop and my projects haven't changed much. A lot of them I just abandon when it gets too complicated and I work very slowly, I was the limiting factor all along! Videos like your's give me the motivation to keep fighting with this drop in motivation when stuff gets comolex, so thank you. what really stood out to me about your short was that it wasn't because of one factor that brought it to life, it was everything, it was the scene composition, story telling, sound design, video editing, post processing, etc that made everything feel real and apart of our world, sure not every model was the most photorealistic as it could be, but even if it was that still wouldn't have brought your short to life, it was everything coming together and the balance between that. I think that is something that i need to learn how to do since i usually get so caught up in trying to make everything so perfect and so photo-realistic that at the end the day im never satisfied because the other important factors like composition and story telling were negelected. Great Video!

exactly, the potato computer is way more underpowered. A potato laptop (not even a pc) is way worse. It would have the fan all time high, the laptop would be too hot, even editing a youtube comment can be lagging. He can't have potato laptop in his tittle. He is clickbaiting in a sense. Although, in a 3d animation perspective which wants 4k rendering, the machine will be underpowered. But my father is a professor and he does all his mathematics and analysing flow, physics in a dell inspiron 5510 with a good i7 and 8gb ram. That is not a potato laptop. The laptop I use, i3 7th gen with 2 gb ram, that is a potato laptop. 4GB dedicated video memory is not a general potato laptop. It may be potato laptop for the blender purist. But the title is not that specific.

@ND6K6 ай бұрын
@@Enchante_OscuroI still disagree that a laptop with a gtx 1650, 16gb of memory and Ryzen 5 processor is a shit laptop, I have run more demanding applications such as unreal engine 5 with lesser hardware. Unless the person is using some wild level of detail / scene sizes and running out of detail you can get the creative work done, a shitty laptop/potato pc would be one that was much worse (e.g using integrated graphics or having 8gb of memory) I should probably clarify that I know that rendering the complex scenes can be more demanding than just UE5, but you can do the design and creative work using a budget computer before using a rendering service if you need the super high detail. The main thing that I hate is the idea that you can't do something great because you have a low spec computer when you can, you just need to be more creative with how you approach things.

You could've probably convinced me all these shots were real, and even without faces it's insanely hard to do that with hand animated humans, so massive props on that! Also some tips for noobs: 1: For any physics objects, go into the physics tab in the properties editor and click "bake all dynamics" so it saves the would-be result of the simulation in a cache, which will run in real time and be less exhaustive and exhausting. And then with any changes, you just delete the cache and bake it again, but your computer won't be trying to calculate cause and effect every single frame 2: it took me months of changing rendering from CPU to GPU to realize it wasn't actually doing anything because I didn't set up GPU settings in the preferences. You might have to research compatibility with your card and Optix and Cuda or whatever but it cut my cycles frame renders from a minute down to five seconds with my graphics card 3: probably a small and single purpose deal, but if you have a ton of objects with the same physics settings, group them all into one object with one physics modifier and turn on "self collision"

"The enemy of art is the absence of limitation." - Orson Welles I think about this a lot with making. Using incomplete systems, slower hardware, tools that aren't designed for what you want out of them. I think those things can bring out deeply interesting and rewarding outputs. Optimisation is always going to be something you have to do, there is no PC fast enough for you to work however you want! I think this is actually the main difference between beginners and professionals, how much you automatically use more optimal workflows by default. Keep pushing yourself beyond what you expect to be possible! You'll be amazed at how far you can go. PS. your potato laptop would have seemed incredible to me when I started with my on-board intel graphics, dual core 1ghz cpu and 1GB RAM 😂

Beautifully put. And who else better than erindale to teach that to us ❤️. PS: ngl i read that whole thing in your cool and calming raspy voice.

BRO, I HAVE A SAME LAPTOP SPEC AS YOU (BUT ACER NITRO 5), Sometimes it seems useless to work with a low -end machine, but God has given you a lot because some people don't even have that. Ignore all the problems and do something fantastic. Thank you for making this video, I really appreciate you, how you did? It really makes my day. God bless you. ♥♥♥

The right motivation at the right time. I really needed it. I've got a laptop of asus tuf series with the same specs as yours. And few weeks back i started to go through the beginner blender series of crossmind studio, and in the middle when i couldn't do everything same as in those videos, due to the limitations of my hardware, i stopped doing it, blaming it on my laptop. But after watching your work today and listening to your words, now i actually understand that my laptop wasn't always a problem, I was. Thank you very much. I'm gonna continue my work from today . And btw you got a new subscriber mate 🙌
