Those Ben Hogan Texan irons date back to the late 30s I believe. He was with MacGregor until around 53 when he started his own company.

I seem to remember that he had a 'disagreement' with MacGregor which may have involved some fairly colourful words😂

@@MrLukealbanese I just did a little research and found out that MacGregor and Hogan had a disagreement over him playing their golf ball. Despite all the testing they provided him, he still preferred the Titleist ball and that could have been maybe one of the reasons for him leaving.

I had one of those 1A putters, I liked it because you could putt left or right handed. I gave it away a few years ago to one of my golfing buddies who liked the "ping" sound. He used to use it with the Ping two colored golf balls.

Ping is king. I still play my Zing 2 irons from when they were brand new. They now have graphite senior shafts. The Eye and Eye 2 were excellent clubs and I know a lot of folks using them, young and old.

Great finds...especially the O.G. Ping Putter! I can say my 1970's Acushnet Bullseye Blade putter is never leaving my bag! I also came across a "home made" 8802 putter. Whom ever made it did a good job...but the maker didn't even put their name on it! Maybe I should send it to Ash....since the shaft is way too short for me, as I am 6'6"!!! 😂😂😂😂

Sounds like a Phoenix 1-A. They're not as resonant as 1-A putters past. I have a Scottsdale 1-A and it rings for quite some time & won't ever be sold. If only I could find a Redwood City 1-A I could die happy.
