If you do, look into using AIR COMPRESSOR. Since I started using air I change grips like changing clothes, because you can get them off without hurting them. You do not need glue, have never had one slip or twist.

So excited to watch this video as I am sitting here holding a set of Ben Hogan Apex clubs, 2-9 + Equalizer and Sure-Out wedge (10 clubs) that I just picked up for $0.50 per club. They are in great shape and the grips are fair. No rust and grooves are great. Probably been in a closet for years. The day after Thanksgiving, guess what I am going to hit? Yep!

When I was an assistant pro I was a Hogan staffer for two years and had this set. One of my regrets was selling off most of my sets that I was given as a pro but I generally sold them off when I got my next set every year or two. Still have my Hogan staff bag and a set of '92 Apex that I played in high school and college. Always cool to see what you two find along the way. some big throwbacks for me!

Nice! My Grail irons are my Citation PowerBilt irons (and woods), from Louisville. I played nine with them last fall (last outing of the year) and still shot in the low 40s (persimmon 4-wood). This spring i found a wedge on e-bay, regripped and ready to go.

I got a very short golf lesson from Ben Hogan at Shady Oaks CC in Ft.Worth in about 1990.. He belonged there & enjoyed drinking coffee & watching folks play. I got a signed hat & he'd surprised me & ask me about a shot I had on 18. Then he pushed my r shoulder & said "Don't let that shoulder roll out ahead of ur swing". My greatest golf moment.

I am still playing with a set of Hogan Apex clubs that my wife bought me new for our anniversary. They are original and still in excellent shape. I regrip them myself every season and they feel great. I did pick up many other Hogan sets when the company was being sold to Calloway and I still play with the Apex set that I got first.

I had a set of those Hogan blades and played some of the best golf of my life with them. I gave them to a junior player after getting a new set of Callaway blades and as much as it felt good to help a young kid out with some decent equipment I still want to punch myself in the lips for giving them up. They are no doubt the cleanest, sweetest irons to hit that I have owned.

Reshaft the Hogan, regrip any club, and repair the Callaway driver with the cracked head. I bought a set of 1973 restored hogan apex blades in 2000 for $260. I actually traded my ping eye 2+ plus's for them. Clubs were mint and beautiful and the feeling of the ball being hit flush isnt something that can be replicated. I sold the irons in 2001 for $180 to a good friend that now has them displayed on his mantle....i regret so much selling those clubs and have never found another set comparable since. I did finda unused apex plus 3 and 4 iron at play it again sports for $5 each and they stay in bag as I have the most confidence in them when it comes to long irons. Maybe one day i will find another set or just buy some used apex plus as they are good irons as well.

I’m not 100% sure but I think older clubs make that distinctive sound because they have leather grips too. I am old enough to remember those days long before golf pride came out with rubber grips

Jon I have two questions. First, what are the structures that are attached to back of the houses? They look like large screened patios. Are they for the bugs or the gators?
