Thanks Andy - as a new owner (two days) of Pixinsight this is invaluable. Thanks for taking the time!

I must be doing something wrong because I never get a debayered folder. My images come out in mono, though I imaged with a DSLR, how do I get a colour image at the end of all this?
@AndyofAstro2 жыл бұрын
Ok this is interesting. I am planning a DSLR imaging video and I'll then do a stacking DSLR colour images too. I wonder if it's because the images are already debeyered? I am completely guessing, however it's on the list of videos to make.

Did you ever figure that out? I’m using a OSC and my image of the Leo triplet is in mono and can figure out for the life of me what went wrong.

This is also happening to me and i don't think manually debayering up to 80 sub frames is time well spent. I am yet to find a tutorial that accurately covers the "So you've taken a load of lights with a DSLR.. here's how to stack them in PixInsight"
@DamienBoath2 жыл бұрын
Okay further update on this. In the WBPP script, before you hit Run/Go Make sure you have the CFA section ticked. This will auto debayer your images if you've used a DSLR and it will create a Debayer folder. It seems this point is never mentioned in tutorials.

@@DamienBoath it is toggled and still no debayer folder.

im very new to pixinsight, but does post-process tab do the star align and integration?
@AndyofAstro2 жыл бұрын
Great question, I am not sure. Later in the year when the season starts again I'll try and find out.
@anthonyexmouth2 жыл бұрын
@@AndyofAstro I was a little confused by this too. I've been imaging for years but only just put my hand in my pocket for pixinsight but when using WBPP it's always done everything right through to integration. the only thing I've had to do is make sure the cosmetic correction process is set up but that's purely optional.

Thanks for video. OMG. Why it has to be THAT complex? Why DSS can stack with just a single or few clicks? I believe PI should have a similar approach WITH the ability to customize! For example there is Automatic Background Removal with one click and there Dynamic Background Removal for advanced. Need the same for stacking.

Thanks for watching, I will be doing an update soon as the process has improved.

I know this is an old video, but a small note here. If you use windsorized sigma clipping as pixel rejection algorithm in the image integration, then you don't need to exclude or remove images with satellite trails. The algorithm will fix your shots by removing those trails. No need to throw away otherwise perfect shots because of those pesky satellites)

In my folder, it doesn't create the debeyed folder. It converts my frames to gray scale

What is a muppet?

A small puppet operated by one or two people. There was a TV show called the Muppets and they are generally quite silly and foolish.
