My back feels relief just watching this. Beats walking along a trailer and bucking bales into the trailer! Of course, I was in great shape for football season!

Been off the farm decades, but we had a NH with belt kicker and big wagons, eliminated a man stacking on a wagon. Then Dad bought one of the NH pull type stackers. I operated it enough times, and also the previous set up with kicker and wagons, to know it's not very efficient or labor saving, if you're stacking hay in a mow anyways. All that tracking over a field again with another tractor and operator. There's no savings, and the aggravation of getting off tractor to set a bale straight a pain.

Wish we had one back in the late 60s early 70s we put up 170 200 thousand bales that were elevatored up into a big red barn each hand stacked with hay shoots to the milk cows under the hay lofts, then went to haylege and a 28x70 Harvestor silo, made me happy.

+K.D. Pearce 170-200 thousand bales I understand why you wanted one, whew! I remember those days KD. When I was in High School I made pretty good money for a kid riding the hayracks, and in the haymow throwing bales. It was hard work but it was good work for high school kids.

Ryan Seppanen my thoughts exactly. I'm pretty confident in calling bullshit!! Or maybe typo but either way , no way, unless a commercial hay farmer, not a dairy.

We own one of these cool lil machines.............. it is nice at times until you have a stack fall while there are 4,000 more bales to pick up and rain is overhead:)
@tylersmith21535 жыл бұрын
Jacob Carrel how do you turn the bales sideways to make your stack more stable?
@ohcornplanter943011 жыл бұрын
Nice video. I have a pull type stacker wagon and it sure makes things alot less labor intensive just as long as the unloading part goes well. If the stack happens to lean and fall you have to stop and restack it by hand. You cannot see whats going on with the stack when you're pushing away from it and if it falls over and hits the push arms then they stick on retraction from being bent and have to be removed and straightened. It helps alot to have a spotter when unloading.
@alphamale186510 жыл бұрын
lot faster to make haw nowadays. when my dad farmed in the 70s you had to cut the hay then rake it. baling was a two person job one to drive the tractor the other to stack the bales as they came of the baler no bale thrower or flipper. take load back to the barn load hay into a loft with a elevator the stack bales in loft. not a one day job

On the one hand, this thing is brilliant. On the other hand, how are we going to torment generations of teenagerss if they aren't following a baler around a field, chucking bales onto a wagon, and sweating their parts off stacking them in a barn. 😁

This is the only way to pick up bales of anything. New Holland has the best hay equipment and i should know we have Five 575 small square balers and 3 newholland bale wagons one is a 1997 1089, a 2008 bw89, and the newest being a 2011 H9870. we bale upwards to 180,000 bales of straw in a week period during the summer.

These modern farm kids are spoiled rotten now. Do this by hand like us rural old folks did growing up. Builds not only muscle but character. We didn't need gyms and treadmills. But I guess now the liberals and snowflakes would say it's a crime to have a kid handle hay bales.

Why is he stacking on his blind side? I have stacked a million bales with one of these machines and you always start your stack on the right side so you can see what you doing.

I thought 1 million was a huge overestimate, but at 1 bale every 5 seconds, that's only 1400 hours. Entirely believable for a bale farmer.

Want to build a hay barn, really like your's, will you share the dimensions? We put up around 6000 bales & hire a stack wagon to pick it up for us then we tarp it. Getting tired of the tarp🤗

I've never seen anything like that! Seems somewhat inefficient with that crazy awkward machine and all. I would think larger rectangular bales would be easier to deal with.

These machines were developed and marketed a long time before large square balers were even a twinkle in some designers eye. Whilst to some they may look ungainly, they get the job done and considering everything is mechanical, I personally think it's a very clever and well thought out piece of engineering. Only thing I would change would be to add double wheels to the rear axle rather than the singles shown in the video. A hay crop is a lot heavier than a straw one so there is a fair old bit of weight on them single tyres on the rear axle. I too have had to pitch hay bales up onto a trailer - it's no picnic on a scorching hot day. These machines were thought up for a reason and I feel sure that there are many farmers out there, whose spine thanks them everyday for machines such as this

No. but I have a 1085 but it's the same thing other than size of bales and size of tables.
@BFDdriver11 жыл бұрын
not really, the bale pretty much needs to be lying on the same plane as the wheels. also my 1032, which is just a tractor drawn version of the one shown here, is pretty sensitive about picking up on sidehills. it works great with the right side downhill but if the right side is uphill it doesn't want to push the bale across after picking it up.
