This was Lake Amador trout fishing at its finest! After a few disappointing trips here, WE LANDED A GIANT!!! Honestly, I wasn’t too optimistic given the wet, cold weather we were about to face on a lake we hadn’t had much success on. But in the end, it was worth it. What a way to cap off 2021!

I need to thank him, I also want to buy a Lami stick (he told me to stop by his booth but I ended up not making it to the ISE afterall due to working all weekend), and also I wanted to ask him a few questions on how to rig the trolling setup for the 1/4 oz. speedys (also he told me the exact broken back rapala to buy and I want to confirm it was an f-9 he recommended as I can't remember) 😅 lol. Amador doesn't plant lightening trout there, it's a different strain called Amagolds from their own hatchery. Years ago those originally Amabows were like catching salmon instead of trout. So glad to see all the rain is filling the lake up and flushing in fresh water finally. Nice job landing that 8 pounder by the way!
