Stacyc Stability Cycle | Better Place To Start?

Before there was another option, we all started riding on a 50, whether that be a PW, CRF, DR-Z, KTM, or Cobra (or if you were particularly lucky, a Polini). Yet, for some kids, particularly very young kids, those bikes could be too much, too fast. The whole thing could backfire and turn a kid off to riding altogether.

We just got our 4 year old son one, a 16 inch model. He was great with his balance bike. Pedals are a bit of a learning curve and a work in progress but we are a desert family. He rode a 50cc but it's a bit intimidating. We got him this and he is a pro within 48 hours. Confident, ready to ride. Asking to jump. Falls down, picks it up. Knows how to turn it on and off. This thing is absolutely awesome and should be a go to starter for anyone looking to get their young ones into the sport.

Both of my kids have these, my first learned to ride this before he turned 2, and helped with the balance to learn how to pedal a bicycle before he was 2.5. They are pricey for what they are, overheat at times but still the best option. I can't get them off these and on to a pedal bike, but they love riding!

I also have both my sons, 5 and 2.5 on the Stacycs. I switch up the days for run bike for the younger one and heavy duty MTB pedal (Prevelo 16 fixed gear on long technical single tracks and ski hill downhills). During the pandemic I worry they will get bored with the Stacyc or the other bike, but your experience is a good example of kids loving their Stacycs.

Even though he’s talking about a child I’m taking notes… I’m 38 and just started riding last year… KTM exc-f 250. Falling down hurts✅. Put leg out in turn ✅. Is intimidating✅. The reason I chose the KTM and the only reason is that it is so “light weight”. I’ve always been terrified of large bikes because I grew up with harly riders that always wrecked and the had major injuries. I’m super comfy now though.

Bring on the back injury , get in early for skeletal doc visits. Wrists should come in a close second or maybe a close battle to which specialist is needed first

Really ?I mean really ? You got to hurt yourself here and there to get good at any sport hell I’m 40 yrs old and been riding since I was 10 and I still get hurt sometimes. The feeling you get from riding is worth it once your hooked that’s it your a rider for life .
