Cool space- love the character of older spaces! Maybe consider putting a bookshelf next to the bed to block (disguise) the view of the bed when you enter your place. You could anchor it to the wall on the end of the shelf for stability. Just a suggestion.

Nice apartment. I would switch the living area and bedroom area and put a partition of sorts by the entry way so you don’t feel like your bed is right by the door. But still a great space with lots of nice charm.

Charming petite "penthouse" w/all those vintage touches & nooks❣ Dig all the built-in storage & windows w/Eastern exposure. (AM ☀️ is the best on West Coast... allowing filtered light w/o worst🌡of day.) 💜 your kitchen & vanity/ dressing area. That D/R is valuable RE, so don't be afraid to dual purpose if dining is not your thing. 💜 your curated cabinets & rustic farmhouse table, but as you said the latter is not quite a fit for sexy bar cart & chairs. A mod console table could "T" against wall to serve as a hotel style writing desk w/reading lamp to enjoy ☕ & view (from either perspective). Plus, convert to dining or sideboard for entertaining when needed. 👊 Clever 😻 & other add-on storage. 👍Well done over all, esp. on your main lay-out. Hard to resist a bed that invites lounging (& 📺)❣

That farmhouse sink!!! I would suggest hanging simple fabric skirting around the sink to conceal the items below it. You could make it from inexpensive canvas drop cloth (Lowes or Home Depot) for a neutral, non-fussy look... it would actually be quite chic. The built-in's, the spaciousness,, the abundance of light... everything about your place is rich with character, warm, and inviting. Great apartment, you've made it very welcoming and comfortable -- it looks like a great place to live :) Well done Stacy!

The studio is huge! It's really charming, but I would add a sliding door and turn the dining room into a bedroom and put a table in the living room. The apartment is really more like a 1 bedroom apartment than a studio.
@Cindy-bee5 жыл бұрын
I think the dining room is to small for a bedroom plus the kitchen is right there. But the bed could be hidden with bookcases or shelving units to divide the space. Even a screen divider would help. If she doesn't use the dining room then make it a study/office space. The apartment is adorable full of character and charm.

Lovely. I had a similar place 50 years ago in San Francisco. love all the built-in's, and that your family contributed various pieces...soulful. Other options: rotate table/rug so it is at the foot of the bed and position chair at an angle; put couch along wall that is now at right angle to it in order to open up the space. Put chest of drawers on wheels so it can be easily moved, for watching tv from bed or from couch. Place it parallel to couch creating a small hallway going into bath area and remove curtain or get a japanese style partial length curtain with color. Pull kitchen table a few more inches from the wall and paint the legs the same color as the chairs. Enjoy

I live in a studio too. I got lucky with the floor plan though. There is a circle wall separating the living area from the bedroom. And the place came with a bed, dresser and kitchen table with chairs. I had two other chair so I didn't need a couch. I chose to have a book case instead. I have to hand wash dishes too. I have a small sink, I had to put one of those sink tub things in to have a place for the water for washing dishes.
