Starting at a Level IV is important for many reasons. First, you learn quickly how to speak. Second, you write many reports and this assists with your investigative skills. Third, you understand politics within the system from blue to green. Lastly, you need to understand the inmate's program and how you can run a tight building by knowing who's who and do not trip on minor infractions. If it's not a DA referral than move on.

I first went into prison in '89. Lightweight charge. 4 yrs 8 months. R & R was Chino then. The guards were cool back then. For the most part. I did my time at Donovan. Level 3. I didn't have too many problems. Hit from behind by a black inmate ( coward ).. Got out and didn't return til '94. This time I had 7 years. I spent my whole term at Delano level 3. I spent my time cutting hair and on the painting crew. The CO'S made the difference if it was a smooth running yard or not. Besides a couple of violations, I've been a law abiding citizen since 2000. Everything you and the other prison channels say are true.. Thank you for what you put out on your channel 🙏

This reminds me of the snow shovel event that left three ppl dead. The wife of one neighbor who caused the entire event to unfold. And the suppressed neighbor across the street who lost everything and had nothing to lose. She alone took everything to the point of no return. I’m in the final stage of processing. I was up in control and an inmate asked for toilet paper and I gave him a roll and the floor officer was like “you don’t have to say yes” and I didn’t even respond back to her but in my mind I was like damn they got that coming imagine how stupid an incident could be started over toilet paper 😂

I started in 1988 during big expansion, did 27 retired and the was asked to return as RA as a C/O did 30 total. You are right, there are staff that will cause assults. You can pretty much guess how much time a C/O has by how they handle themselves, some never get it. I got stories. One time a C/O used a racial slur during a yard down in the middle of a group of about 10 inmates needless to say that was a bad deal i had to figure a way out of for the inmates the guy who did it and myself I managed by it was only only because i had a good reputation, that isnthe only thingnthat saved all ofnus that day.

I hated working with weak ass officers pretending to be the tough guy, more than dealing with inmates. One is easy to deal with and the other is unpredictable. Somehow they thought that was control, when that is the complete opposite.

I was present when A Ficility, B facility, C facility all went off at the same time on staff back in 2002 or 2003.. we lost over 50 officers in one day. Hard level four lots of lifers

The staff assaults are crazy now. The inmates know there are no consequences to their actions anymore. The admin wont even shut down a yard for 24 hour assessment. They just keep running program

My friend dad became a prison guard later in life after he got laid off… computer job back during Obama era recession…ended up getting a job at the penn and his2nd day there a youngster guard was popping off and they rushed staff… a few got sent to the hospitals and that young guard they tried to cut his throat… he quit that day… that prison life is no joke .. a different world in there. Friends dad couldn’t believe what he had signed up for

What do you expect they are inmates, everybody can give all they advice they want. At the end of the day, they are inmates, especially level 4's, they are master of manipulation, and if they don't have their way , or we tell them no know days they assault us. You can say write them up all you want, these inmates face no almost no disciplinary action these days. And even a riot does not slam a yard anymore.
