@@TwiggsT4 had given this some thought previously, which has now been reignited. Especially after an oil leak on the breather valve nr the oil filler neck. O ring change. Looked at the intercooler and thought you look a bit grubby. Lol 😂

I got the catch can and pipes over a year ago, and it’s taken me this long to get round to it 😂 Common place to leak is those o rings, luckily it’s all relatively quick and simple to do. The cleaning of the intercooler is a bit messy but definitely worth it 👍

The catch can sounds like a good idea pal. If you go ahead I'd be interested in where you put it. I've often thought about it but where to place it so you can get to it has put me off.

I have been looking at different catch cans, currently the one I’m doing is good for 300bhp so it’s rather large, but I will also be looking at a smaller one for standard vans

Did it make difference to running Matt?took mine off recently to fit Egr blank plate.mine on 320000mile.speedo packed up so mile counter gone too.can estimate miles added

It doesn’t seam to have made much difference, it’s hard to tell, but the temps are a lot lower which I mentioned in my recent video on oil catch can. That’s a mile saving tip, disconnect the speedo between MOTs 😂

Definitely helps with cooler air into the intake and with the oil catch can hopefully no more oil in the intercooler reducing gunk in the intake manifold 🤞

Hey man. Great content. Im an office wanker but gonna try do a few jobs myself since you have given me some confidence! Gonna start with egr clean and this IC clean as shown here. Just wondering, if you done it again today would you use petrol? If so, roughly how much did you use? If not petrol, what would you use? Bonus question. Best product for cleaning out the EGR once removed? I think i can do this!

Haha joker, office wanker 🤣 😂 I used gunk, I have a separate container to put the used gunk in so I can use it again, I only brought 500ml because it doesn’t evaporate, I then use brake cleaner in my air compressor.

Hi mate. Got the exact same car and would like your opinion on one issue I'm having. The car is always struggling starting in the morning. After that when the engine is warm it starts perfectly. I changed all the sparking plugs last year. Maybe some electrical issue not sparking the plugs?!? Tx for answering

There’s no spark plugs in a diesel. Only glow plugs. Check fuel injection timing. That’s the most common issue

Yes mate 👍 any decent degreaser will do it. It’s also the cheaper option using fairy liquid

My inlet manifold on my LT35 had severe carbon deposit build up. I had a 1 gallon can of GUNK (the stuff you mix with water) think I did a 5 to one mix, poured it in and left it. No agitation(but over several weeks) all the carbon just disolver into it. Not sure about the frothing within an Inter cooler but would work on this application very well to remove oil as seen in a short time. Petrol is great but safety concerns prevents me from using it in large quantities.. I would be very wary about using the amount you used Matt. The fumes only need the tiniest of sparks to ignite.. static electricity from your clothing even. Best do that outside if you have to use it. Great result though mate.. enjoy your videos immensely..

Yeah I wasn’t in there for long until I moved the tray outside, I only used petrol because I wanted to leave the fuel to evaporate to see the results of how much oil is left to get an idea of how much oil was in the intercooler, all this just for another video 🤦‍♂️ sounds like I’m making excuses 😂 you’re right tho it is very dangerous and I should’ve done this outside. Don’t see many LT’s around near me, how’s yours coming along. Glad you’re enjoying the content thanks 🙏
