Stage 4 clutch review

bro, what about xtd flywheels? im getting a stage 4 but still debating if getting a xtd flywheel also or a little bit better for a my 350z

I literally just fried 2 of these in my civic B16 turbo 8psi. I broke in the first and it lasted 3 hard launches at the track even tho I know there not designed for it but there cheap why not right?! Then the second I didn’t break it in much and I got two launches and fried. They are great for street daily fun but can’t handle much more abuse then street.

What clutch did you buy? Was it sprung or unsprung? I've beat the crap out of that clutch on the street and at the track around the same power level as you. What size slicks or radials we're you running? I was on 24.5 x 8 Mickey Thompson's and also on 205 50 15 Toyo proxes. My clutch was paired with a 2100lbs pressure plate, 10lbs flywheel and short geared b16 j1 cable trans.

No Limit Racing it was that same unsprung that’s in the video no lie stage 4 Xtd. I ended up buying a stage 4 action clutch and never looked back. Maby you just had a good one

See I have a 300 AWHP 3000gt I bought a stage 2 XTD clutch I have not put in yet but in our cars clutches are NOT easy to replace and can take a full day for a good mechanic to complete. I'm a novice guy and i'm worried I will go and install this and have to replace it to soon. mine is not puck and it's sprung though. I just hear so much more bad then good about them it worries me.. Yet I wanna try it seeing I already have it..

ive only used the stage 4 unsprung so i can only vouch for that but i was worried when i purchased me too but it actually worked very well. just make sure u clean the flywheel and pressure plate well before installing your clutch, also remember if your clutch disk inst ceramic, you will need to break it in. goodluck and let me know how it turns out for you

yeah i got new fedenza flywheel its only got a lil spots of thin ass rust on it like i could wipe it off

@@keelanrc1471 Man for a 3000gt spend the money on a better disc. So much work to replace. Cost you a lot more in time. On my RX8 race car I'm building its not such a big deal. maybe 1.5-2 hours to swap a disc.

It'll be fine the people saying bad stuff ain't installing it right or braking it in right i have an xtd stage 4 6 puck in my 04 mustang and i have no issues at all my car is 360 hp and my clutch is rated at 650 hp it rocks bro i love it

domt do it!!!! i jist put in yeaterday the stage 2 one....feels like driving grandmas car nd doesnt grip at all....im b20 on 8psi making 230 md the stage 2 cant handle....the one i jad before was the stage 4 6 puck nd it was real good!! im ordering it today

Which direction do you install the clutch plate in? Do you have the spline sticking out of the clutch disk pointing towards the gearbox or motor? I'm installing a 6 puck in my BMW at the moment but no idea what direction the clutch disk should face as there are no instructions.

The side of the clutch with the splines sticking out the most should face the pressure plate/transmission

I've got a lightly used FX Racing stage 4 clutch kit and flywheel that I got with a ZF 5 speed gearbox i'm installing into my E36. I'll throw a bit of a video up on my KZbin channel when I get a chance. Funny thing is no one seems to know the proper orientation of these clutches, get a different answer from everyone. I'm sticking with your advise for now unless someone come back with a compelling argument against it. haha

I would not recommend xtd to anyone. I guess it's 50/50 hit or miss outcome seems like but I have my own experience that xtd shuttered into pieaces after 10k miles, I cheaped out paying $150 for their stage 3 but the money I won't get back. I could put the $150 toward to act or competition you know? I have competition stage 5 now it's really easy to drive little chatter taking off but lasting me more than 3years never slips. Great clutch I have ever had.

The instructions says 500 mile break in so properly install it brake it in because the material has to settle in thats why they say 500 mile break in I've never had a problem with any clutch but the people saying shit about this clutch don't know how to follow the instructions which tells me the dumb m***** f****** probably didn't install it right either post a video of your install and break in if all done right and it fails then it was probably a defect it happens to all parts and brands.

Ceramic clutches do not need to be broken in, the material is much harder than regular organic clutches. Main reason to break in a organic clutch would be to prevent glazing but these race clutches don't need that. Think about all the actual track/drag cars out there, they are not driving those cars 500 miles to break in a clutch or even piston rings, most of that is done on the Dyno while it's getting tuned. But yeah I think these xtd clutches are great I've only ran the stage4 6puck unsprung and 2300lbs pressure plate... shit grabs like the Hulk

Xtd is junk I would never put that clutch back in my car, might if worked for you but not for me broke on me after 2k miles daily driving

how did the clutch break? maybe improper installation? i know a few other ppl personally using this clutch and no issues. i did a lot of racing and put about 7k miles on this, never had a problem

Most reviews say no daily driving. I've heard more good than bad concerning these clutches. I'm looking to put one in my audi s4
