Firefall - Arclight Intro

this is my favorite intro I've ever seen.

The Firefall happened when an asteroid passed too slowly and too close to earth and got pulled into its orbit, colliding with satellites, and other orbital objects. The collisions began to cause the asteroid to rain its remains down upon the earth. It lasted 3 months, and formed a ring of dust and rock around the earth, similar to the rings of Saturn.

The Firefall was caused by a giant meteor, breaking in orbit; the world shattered, continents were rearranged, and countries were broken and fragmented. The crash caused by The Archlight, unleashing a giant storm called The Melding which starts to cover the Earth leaving only New Eden, a piece of land in Brazil that survives only because it is in the middle of the storm.

The Melding came out of the rift that was torn when the Arclight tried to arcfold (aka in orbit), not where it crashed.

Have you Seen the arclight ingame? it's about a kilometer off the coast... I assume it left an impact crater which got flooded, so yeah, underwater base.. The did actually scavenge part of the Arclight to build a base on transhub (used to be an airport).. Transhub being the military base of operations SW of Copa

Will there ever be a 1080p download with higher bitrates and less compression? I would love to convert this to 60fps with InterFrame or SVP (Smooth Video Project). Although HFR is less laggy in 720p resolutions, downscaling from 1080p would be better than converting with an actual 720p. For science!

The military was not behind the firefall event. that was just a meteor that split into thousands of pieces when it entered the earths orbit.

So the crash of this ship it the cause of the melding or what? I'm sorry but some steps in the lore really seem obscure to me...

while i know it was a military project i don't think it was on there end that caused the Melding event. i foresee outside involvement of some sort. once more is known about the melding im sure it will not just be a simple malfunction that caused it.

nope that was the Firefall event not the melding event. we still don't know what the melding is or where it came from so who knows but seeing as the current playing area is melding free there must be a way to get rid of it. also as the saying goes SHIT HAPPENS.

lol please give a source for this. i can find no where withing any of the info we have atm that that is indeed true. also the Melding did not show up until after the Arclight disaster so saying it has always been there and known about is well Flawed.
