After you get the ring proceed to the door. That's what I did and it was already opened.

You're not supposed to kill or get spotted by the bots in which case the door will close. You can go back up, reset at the checkpoint crystal and retry as long as you haven't cleared the dungeon.

Isnt there a ring that lets you stay undetected at closer distances?

Yeah, you can retry this as long as you didn't clear the dungeon.
