Henk indeed was new to the way of singing with more grit, he learned that for Floor so he could give her this version of the song, so you're absolutely correct in noticing it didnt come easy for him to do that. People already are suggesting Vivo Per Lei and i fully agree that you need to check that out, its a lovely duet where you can see Henk's other talent to let his singing partner shine to their full potential. (he pulls duet partners into the safety of, what i call, "The Henk Zone" giving them all the confidence to perform their best, i'm sure you'll notice it too :) ) Now, if you want to hear him do something very different, then i suggest his version of "Your Man" where he goes full country and does it more than convincingly. Or his Cuban traditional styled version of "Despacito" to see yet another side. I think of all singers that season, Henk stepped out of his comfort zone most. Thnx for the react Sam :D

He does also sings 'Noelia' for Rolf. The grandma of Rolf did sing it by herself at home,, when he visited her as a child. The song does remember him tot his grandma, who died, a long time ago. Rolf didn't hear the song a long time, because he can't handle it. The song brings so much memories back to him.

Ohh, finally! I love his version. Even more than the original. I love how he just sits there, not moving a shoulder and nailing it. His duet with Emma Heester's was so good as well, he did a perfect job to let her shine. Could you check out Son Seung Yeon? She is a young, incredibely talented korean singer. Her mix is ridiculous! Try "Lost Love" (it's amazing, one of her best stages) or "I miss you" ( it has a acapella part in it, which is so good)! , her most insane one is probably "Is anyone there" (it's sick! But be aware that she changes her tone completely there, it's much heavier than usual)

U were right about the bit on the end, not what they would normally do. That's the definition of the show. Singers from different genres are put in a luxury resort on Ibiza and they start to bond. Every singer has a evening the one u saw was for Floor. Before the season starts every singer has a list of their favourite songs and of course their own repertoire where the other singers can choose from. I really like the small and intimate setting, great background band, the emotional vibe, learning to know every singer a bit more personal and singers stepping out of their comfort zones. Of course u noticed Floor can sing everything that's been thrown at her, most of my favourites from that season were hers but definitely this one from Henk was one of them.

Yes, as mentioned below, you definitely have to comment on Vivo per lei with Emma Heesters. I’m sure you know Andrea Bocceli’s original. To me the must beautiful performance of the 2019 series.Emma does the same thing as you described, going from loud to really calm so beautifully. I always feel Italian female pop singer use too much power at all times. Emma is an angel.

I would like you to have a look at a song sung for Henk by Tim Akkerman. Talking about stepping out .of ones comfort zone. It is the dutch version .org 'bring him home' from Les Mis. In dutch it is called 'Breng hem thuis' also a Beste Zangers 2019 performance.

I've seen this a number of times now and he's a really, REALLY good singer! It's not his normal style to do the fry stuff, no, that was definitely for Floor, just like when they did Phantom of the Opera :) On a side note: Is it just me, or does Floor remind anyone else of Lord of the Rings? Yes, Henk sounds pretty good but why?? Why does he feel he needs to copy the way David Draiman and Disturbed did it? They took a brilliant song and made it their own. In the process, they were even thanked by Paul Simon and nominated at the Grammy Awards for their live performance. So why??? The meaning of this song is lost in this rendition of it 👎
