Amazing!! After moving house two and half years ago, and with a lot of work to be done on the house, I had to leave my mosaicing and stained glass until now. I’m ready to start over and can’t wait to make garden mosaics and stained glass hangings. Your tutorials are so clear and to the point. Thank you.

Thank you miss! I am so happy I kept some scraps to practice what I'm learning with for my next project! I wonder if I need to buy a higher quality glass scorer or if there's something I'm doing wrong but my score line never starts where I want it to... it will often start in the middle of my stroke. It's always oiled. I don't know if maybe it's rusting on a microscopic level and I'm just not aware or what.

It's more likely that you're not applying even pressure along the whole length of the score Arya. If you have a look at this page it outlines good cutting practice: everythingstainedglass.com/key-perfect-scoreline . I also have many tutorials here - all free: everythingstainedglass.com/how-to-cut-stained-glass . I hope that helps.

You dipped your cutting wheel in oil? thank you for your great videos!
@everything-stained-glass2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do Neko. Putting a bit of oil and a bit of sponge in a jar and dipping prevents leakage from the barrel and is more easily controlled. Glad you like my videos.

Gracias por subtitular, se ve genial!!!!

Alicia, estoy haciendo una nueva clase en línea y todos los videos tienen subtítulos en español. Las cosas que puedes hacer estos días. Aunque no estoy seguro de lo bueno que es el español :-) Alicia I'm just making a brand new online class and all of the videos have Spanish subtitles. The things you can do these days. Not sure how good the Spanish is, though :-)

Could you have used running pliers instead of the grozers?
@everything-stained-glass2 жыл бұрын
Only if there's enough room on either side of the score for the running pliers to fit on the glass - but then it wouldn't be a thin strip :-)

This is helpful. Thank you so much! Waiting for a tutorial shows how to cut small equal squares. Whenever I try, I get various sizes and some get broken. 😫
@everything-stained-glass4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was useful Iman, thanks. Strip cutters are good for cutting identical shapes repeatedly.

I try to cut 1.5 mm glass but it always cuts in weird way. Let me try again. Do you have any tips ?
@everything-stained-glass7 ай бұрын
This thin glass is picture glass and isn't really suitable for stained glass as it's too thin and breaks too easily. That's probably why you're having problems; that or pressing too hard. Your best bet is to buy some dedicated stained glass - 3mm thick - and see how you go with that. Hope that helps

@@everything-stained-glass For making picture frames I can only use 1.5 mm glass I am getting better at it but its still sometimes go crazy, I love the satisfaction of a clean cut. Thanks for responding
