Thank you for the great lessons!! What do you think of using a brass wire sponge instead of the wet sponge?

I think its harder to wipe off the oxidation building up on the tip with the brass wire.

What flux do you recommend?

I like Glastar liquid flux the best. I also use Classic 100 Gel Flux for metals and the second side of my project. The gel has a higher boiling temperature so doesn't cause as many bubbles when soldering second side of project and doesn't dry out as quickly as the Glastar liquid flux when running or soldering metals. Once flux dries out it no longer works and you need to add more. However, the solder doesn't take a good copper patina after using the gel flux. So I use all Glastar flux if I am going to copper patina the solder.

What kind of silver tape to use?
@greatglassgalore Жыл бұрын
The silvered tape on the snowflake videos is the VenturaTape Silvered Copper Foil (not the silver backed). Unfortunately, VentureTape sold to 3M who stopped making it. So it is no longer available. You'll have to put on black backed or silver backed foil and tin all your pieces before assembling the snowflake.
