I admire the way that you put the time and prep into your projects to make sure that you get the results that you want. You are truly a professional when it come to remodeling! I know your sore. I am just scrubbing out an old burro we brought and are going to rehab her. I feel like I got dragged by a truck and ran over a few times. Of course, I am older. I only did half of it. Top and had to squat because I needed to do the storage areas. Also, the ceiling strip where carpet was glued. Husband finished that for me. So, I removed the glue where floor was. I feel for you but looks great on camera. Can not wait to see it finished. Love the curtains and wallpaper. You and Mike make a good team.

Love it! -- You can’t shake the stains but you can flip the cans upside down carefully. I flip mine upside down when home from store and then carefully right side up before I open to stir. Really helpful to mix.

I’m about to be going through the same decision. I’m staining our floors. We have light oak downstairs and 100 year old reclaimed pine. I want the whole house to flow. So it’s so hard to get the stains right to match with two different types of wood. Thumbs up! Thanks for sharing!

I was watching this video again (because I love it) and because I relate to redoing old from-1959-varnished oak floors. When I redid my floors I used a drum sander with pad made from man made pads that were progressively finer. I vacuumed between each go-thru and damp mopped to raise the grain between sanding. When I went to sell my little house, people walked in and said “What beautiful floors! What company did you use?” The first buyer came in and bought it before it was on the market. It really showed off my Persian carpets. My recommendation is to buy carpet pads for your wool carpets. 24:36 They will not wear out if you do. You’ll be able to pass them down to your grandchildren.
