the best glue to use on concrete or porches is the carpet tile pressure-sensitive glue...usually white and you let it setup to dry untill it goes clear and then it sticks automatically don't have to worry about any leakage or humps... it's a little more expensive but it's totally worth it and it smells good haha

A video of you actually doing this world have been more helpful rather than just saying how to do it.

+edjucat I will try to make a video in the future and even though the title doesn't suggest that you will be learning how to do anything, you are absolutely right and it would have been better if I provided viewers with more information about the process of installing exterior carpeting on stairs.

+stairbuilding Thanks so much for your input. I'm a total novice in this area, so a lot of what you said was over my head. I'm more of a visual learner and actually seeing it done would have been more helpful for me. Thanks for your video anyway.

I have two brand new rolls of indoor outdoor carpeting in my basement, which has been there for about 15 years. I cannot tell if the rubber backing has gone bad. The actual carpet side still looks brand new. The rubber side seems somewhat dry, but I can’t recall what the new condition looked like. I want to install the carpeting on my outdoor concrete steps.

Go down to your local home improvement center and see what the new carpet looks like:)

This message is for Shaun and I wish I could help, but I live in sunny Southern California and don't think I could provide you with the best advice.

My question is, how to measure the entire porch and steps. I want to buy a carpet that is already premeasured.

How do you also carpet the sides of the stairs?
@stairbuilding Жыл бұрын
I don't have a video on that yet and it's not easy to explain without one.

I would read the installation instructions on the adhesive and maybe carpeting to verify.

how do glue a carpet on tiled stairs?
@stairbuilding3 жыл бұрын
I can't provide product information, but would suggest going down to your local home improvement center or lumber yard. The adhesive or glue might not work as good on tile and I would read the product installation instructions to make sure whatever you get works on tile.

Any tips for getting stiff carpet to keep pressure on the riser?
@stairbuilding9 жыл бұрын
+nateoqi I've seen carpet installers cut it where it won't bend.
@trevorjames5493 Жыл бұрын
You can wet it so its softer to bend or use heat but you don't want to burn it and then spread contact cement then put a weight on it or clamp overnight should fixed also make sure there's nothing underneath could be a chunk of concrete stuck under the carpet

how does carpeting hold up in winter snow? ... I'm sure you can't put calcium on it
@stairbuilding5 жыл бұрын
I'm in Southern California and don't think I would be much help, but would suggest that you look around the area where you live to see what kind of luck people are having with outdoor carpeting. I was in Colorado a few years ago and noticed a church entrance stairway with outdoor carpeting, but it was covered by a porch and it was holding up fine, I just don't know how old it was.
