This concert/movie changed my life. I saw it in theaters when it was released and after watching Jimi (especially on the Song Remains the Same) I was on a totally different path as a guitar player. I didn't even know about hybrid picking, volume control for distortion, chromatic scales, string sweeping, etc.. it changed me in a good way. The only bad thing is the movie is 70's and full of fantasy sequences... too many drugs I suspect ;)

Another superb performance by everyone involved. Thank you Mike and Dev. On a historical/financial point, when I was 17 years old I paid £0.75 for my first Led Zep concert ticket. That’s 75% of £1. In 1975 I paid £1.50 for a ticket at the Earls Court London shows ( I went twice). At Knebworth in 1979 ( their final UK shows) I paid £7.50 . They never scalped the fans and always played for at least two hours. At Earls Court in 2975 the show ran for 3hours 20 minutes and I missed my train home!

Ah memories. Way back in the last century, when this concert happened, there was a poster from this point of this show of Robert and Jimmy. This was a 3 night stand at MSG. I bought it at our local head shop that sold posters, lava lamps, incense and other paraphernalia. It hung proudly on my wall near the 2 posters from Dark Side of the Moon, my castle on the hill blacklight poster and a poster of Cheryl Ladd. Dev, there just sitting there gor two reasons, 1 in awe of Jimmy, 2 they were probably stoned out of their mind. That's the drum kit Jason is playing in the O2 arena concert in 2006, or 2007.

Thanks again, Mike and Dev. Enjoyed that. Excellent concert and amazing that they did a 15-song set like that three nights in a row. Ah, youth. lol Plant was joking about the 130 lbs. Plant was the tallest of the four at about 6'1", but Bonham had the heaviest build, weighed closer to 180 lbs.

Plant isnt 6ft 1 now as he frequents my local pub and sometimes does an impromptu solo session. He is in his 70s after all but still has the hair and charisma . Amazing performer even now. I went to the same school as him King Edward VI Grammer school but he was a couple of years older. I didnt know him , wish I had done and never seen them play live.

Super super fun as usual guys!! Another great version of MB, esp the scene w/Jason & the rock-slide ending (the '130 lbs of glory' must have referred to something else...Bonham reportedly was 5' 10" and weighed between 156 & 176 lbs)...and the tickets (and all tickets) were DEFINITELY affordable back when i saw 'em (1977 - $6 at the door, Day On The Green). Thanks again you both for all your detailed, spirited reactions & the work putting together the great HD version of this...always a party if it's Zeppelin

John Bonham was actually 5'10 , 5'11, & 230 lbs. I think that 130 was a joke. He got to like 195 once I believe & was really lean from touring. Jimmy Page was 5'11. 160 lean.

I fell in love with rock music after hearing Vanilla Fudge’s cover of You Keep Me Hanging On , and the drumming of Carmine Appice. 56 years later I’m still a fan of Carmine’s but not drummers as a collective group..... only ever heard maybe 4 drum solos of note, but yeah..... still love great drumming as a part of great music. Moby Dick is mostly just another boring drum solo with maybe 3 or 4 points of interest stretched out by pointless filler. Maybe try Ian Paice’s effort in The Mule by Deep Purple. His 6 minute drum roll is mostly played with just one hand while the other does the usual job of a rock / jazz drummer...... one of the more musical solos you will hear in ROCK music.

Bonham's death was accidental. He was a binge drinker, not an alcoholic. He would drink to excess when he was lonely and away from family for extended periods of time. A proper drug addict or alcoholic could never sustain the discipline and work ethic required to play drums in LZ.

He says he thinks it's a song of hope because it's full of references to the Occult and in the end she stays on the wrong (non Christian) path. Jimmy Page studied the Occult, owned one of the largest stores on the subject and bought Allister Crowley's home.
