Great footage! How many hours did it take you to get to the radio tower? I know you guys look like experienced hikers so probably shorter than an average hikers 😆.

Thanks for posting. My son did this by himself for his 25th birthday. It will be a travesty if they dismantle those stairs, they should fix them up and regulate them.

Exccellent video of the Haiku Stairs "Backside." You say you have made many hikes. Have you ever tried the Kalalau Trial on the Isand of Kauai, Hawaii? It's unbelievable. I have done the Kalalau Trail 3 times, there and back and I also hang glided off the Kalalau Lookout, down to the Kalalau Beach, in 1978. This hike will knock more than your socks off! Nudity on the beach is acceptable. I loved your video. Take a look at my first attempt up the Haiku Stairs on KZbin. "Haiku Stairs Police and Guard Encounters. I hope to be on top of the Haiku Stairs in 2022. Thank You

Did this hike last week, hiked the valley and took stairs all the way down. This was the most amazing experience I have ever had. It would be an absolute shame if they dismantle these stairs.

Isn’t there security at the bottom of the stairs?
@youtubeguy996 ай бұрын
@@Darksilence130 not always, but security isn't the worry. It's only an issue if the Police are there and fine or charge you. They are starting the removal of the stairs this week sadly...

Just did this hike 2 weeks ago. It was pouring rain on the rope section coming down, just to make it more interesting. Then the rain stopped and it was perfect again. A Must Do hike!

I don’t see how this hole is any more dangerous than half dome in yosemiti or angels landing Utah. They jeep the climbing aids repaired there but people have been insured or killed doing improper things. Regardless, they are kept open due to public demand. This should be as well. Keep maintenance up and charge a fee if must. Suspect tearing this down would not even be a consideration in Europe or other places in the world.

So - the ILLEGAL way has handrails all along it, while the LEGAL way doesn't. Easy choice as I see it !

So why is it that this route is legal and the other route isn’t? How sure are you that it is legal? Why do people still choose to do the illegal route?

Take NOTE To set foot on any of the haiku stair base is ILLEGAL. You get caught you automatically get a fine and arrested.
