In Stalker 2, you can jump into deep water, but the developers have designed the game to gradually slow down your movement as you approach deeper areas, eventually stopping you completely. This mechanism is intended to prevent unexpected deaths in swamps and other bodies of water. However, you can bypass this 'barrier' by jumping directly into the deep water. Similar to the mechanics in Metro, doing so will cause you to instantly drown or die.

Stalker 2 has an around 64 km² huge seamless Open World compared to Metro Exodus and was just released 5 weeks ago..... Also Metro is al lot mor scripted than Stalker. Metro is way more Story driven and takes the Player by the Hand quite literally.... Also the Devs of Stalker 2 had way more problems than 4 A games ever had. originally it was announced for 2012 but they had to close the studio for a while because of money issues, some years later when they reopened the studio and started to develop the game again the Ukrainian War started and had to develop the game while some of the devs had to join the military to fight for Ukraine....

But let's pretend Metro isn't a 5+ year old game that still looks, performs and plays better with far more polish on a supposedly inferior engine =) You forgot gunplay, enemy animations and interactivity which Metro is also far superior. Better storytelling and voice acting as well. Also, better view distance, binoculars, night vision. Everything that actually MATTERS. Why do the NPCs in S2 still just stand there and not shoot back after threatening them, UNLESS you actually hit someone? Its half baked. A pointless interaction that's interesting ONCE. Then you realize it's pointless. Just like water. You just DIE if you go too deep, an invisible wall to control load balancing in the open world. It's hard to pick. I love both games, for some of the same reasons, and for some different reasons. Exodus was way ahead of its time and still stands strong to this day. They had some very "forward" thinking aspects in that game that other developers would do well to take notice. For Stalker 2, i actually don't mind the flat PDA on a flat screen. They were all like that, and it's part of the nostalgia. What would be cool in Stalker 2, is to either be able to keep your map on a Compass (N/S/E/W) orientation, OR in a navigational mode that rotates with your direction of travel, kind of like GPS in your car. And also zoom in just a little further.

I almost cried in the end of Exodus. I think I played all of them 5-7 times over the years. Stalker has the zone ™ - but compared to Anomaly, Stalker 2 feels superficial. A lot bc the 100m radius around you is just laughable. - but why not have a 3d pda? Why no ranks and factions you can join? I like how Eastern countries that make gun games, their weapon can get broken or jammed a lots while Western countries focus more in the pure shooting. Hey keep your neutral state and cool head when you read this. Eastern weapons are more durable and that's a fact, because their logic design focuses on the harassment environment that will ruin your guns, so their gun design pay attention to jamming and durable. And because of that, Eastern games has that kind of logic in their games, they add jam and broken weapons. While Western countries overall focus more than the performance, they focus more on the accuracy, shooting speed, weight. So their shooting games also focus more on the shooting and chaos, but they don't usually add Jam and Broken weapons cuz those who study about guns know too well that, their complex weapons usually jam more often and less durable than their cousin's guns, especially when players are shooting their guns like crazy. So they don't add jam and broken.

13:59 rain is mostly better in Stalker 2, but the fact the rain textures is found on the walls and floors in underground bunkers sometimes too annoys me so much.

The very first Stalker is still the best. Stalker 2 will be really good in the next few months/years.

I believe stalker can become a superb game if only they would fix all the bugs.. but the physics and details looks better in stalker 2 imo...

Now let's remember that GSC was under the wing of Microsoft and their budget was clearly larger. But the games are about the same level, Metro is even better

Metro Exodus is good but despite all the flaws Stalker 2 has I enjoyed it far more than metro. Its just more opened and non linear, with your actions having consequences and leading to different outcomes in the long run.

A lot of the comparisons in this video feel unfair and removes context. For example they claim that you can't drown or die from radiation in Metro, when that is only true for the easy difficulty and there are multiple intricate ways to change difficulty settings from monster health to ammo scarcity. So it feels kind of manipulative to point out only one setting when Metro actually gives you more control over game settings than STALKER.

Indeed, dude just had to walk into the water again to see you can drown in Metro Exodus. The first time Artyom always survives.

I just saw some horrible tree poppin in Stalker, so yea, not sure what to say. The textures don t blow you out of the water either...

you can drown in metro exodus , its just places that land are far and that artyom cant reach them in team , he will either drown or get eaten underwater. metro exodus was also ahead of its time.

Stalker definitely has the best weapon jamming animations. Really shows you the struggle in unjamming your gun. Metro you just reload by the looks of it. Well not really reload but you get what I mean💀
@psychofroggy8062Ай бұрын
I will say Metro has the cool unique weapon designs going for them. Stalker uses real weapons instead of making their own up besides the Gauss weaponry💀

I don't care if Metro doesn't have the same details as Stalker 2. It's still one hell of a game...both games are awesome. In my opinion, Stalker 2 was the best game of this year, and probably is one of the best from this generation.

Metro Exodus looks miles ahead of Stalker 2 while running better to. Have never seen a better RT implementation.

Stalker world/plot is more about adventure and science oriented, whereas Metro plot is more discovery, neurotic, and desperate. The stalker world is just the zone, there is still a mainland, a normal and safe world. People are mostly those seeking fortune, miracles, or scientific discovery, mostly military or ex-military, scientists, etc. In Metro the entire world is post nuclear fallout, there is no mainland, it's much more desperate and everyone is trying to survive, you have cannibals, slavery, cultists, communists, fascists, etc. communities are very lived-in with families, children, schools, laundry, food/water supply. don't have that in stalker, the emptiness in metro makes you contemplate nuclear war and the scenes are much more grandiose despite the map being less than stalker 2. overall i enjoy both, but if i had to compare stalker and metro, stalker is like Game of Thrones, and Metro is like Lord of the Rings
